Title: Preaching Nityananda
Gauranga
User: Swami Gaurangapada Date: 2007-03-13 20:08:59
Dandavat Pranams Gurudev,
Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna!
I met a total stranger
today while i was walking to office, who approached me and asked me if i was
only doing bhakti or also something else. He saw me chanting and i was wearing
tilak. So I told him that our Guru has told us to perform bhakti while
performing our regular activities so that at the time of death which is most difficult
and painful we can actually remember the lord. He said whenever he sees a
bhakta he feels very happy. He is worshipping a ancestoral family saligram
shila. I asked him if he was reading some scriptures and practicing devotional
service. He said he does pooja for 1-2 hours but not actual chanting or reading
because if he gets knowledge he would not know how to continue his material
life and activities. He is a marketing guy. I did not know how to preach to him
to chant the names of Gauranga Nityananda and Hare Krishna. But i told him that
I could send him a Bhagvat Gita in Hindi which he could read. He agreed. how to
hand over Nityananda Gauranga to people. ???

Nityananda! Gauranga!
Hare Krishna! You should explain to him the glories of Naam Prabhu, the
chanting of the Holy Names of the Lord which is of paramount importance in this
age. You can tell him some of the verses from the Vedas about how chanting is
the only way in Kali Yuga are all other kinds of worship are not so effctive.
Once he has heard the glories of chanting Naam, then you can tell him about
Lords Nityananda Gauranga and the glories of chanting Their Holy Names. You can
give him the small pocketbook "Lord Gauranga in the Vedas"
which has all the Vedic references about Gauranga being God Himself.
