Nityananda, Gauranga and Hare Krishna!
All glories to Shrila Prabhupada, Shrila BhaktiSiddanta, Shrila GauraKishora and Shrila bhaktivinoda thakura !
I am posting this on behalf of my wife Sheela and following is her own narration:
A devotee friend had met us after a gap of many years and left us with his collection of devotional books. Myself, my husband, my daughter and son were all going through the books. One small book with a yellow cover and titled “Please hear, chant and distribute the holy name” by Sasi Shekara dasi attracted my attention. I started reading the book and almost at the end I read the following paragraph: “A person who is actually a follower of Shrila Bhaktivinod Thakura must immediately accept the request of Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu by offering respectful obeisances unto His lotus feet and thus beg from him the Hare Krishna maha mantra. If one is fortunate enough to beg from the Lord this Hare Krishna maha mantra his life is successful” Adi lila 2.9 :36P
After reading this I started thinking that since I was chanting only Nityananda and Gauranga mantrarajas, when I would become qualified to chant the Hare Krishna maha mantra without any offences. After reading the book, I realized how precious and powerful the Hare krishna maha mantra is and I longed to chant the maha mantra. Then I sincerely requested Nityananda prabhu to give me a hint, as to when I could chant the mahamantra, because I am scared of the offences that I may do while chanting the maha mantra. Later I chanted 10 rounds of Nityananda and Gauranga and since it was past 11 pm, I went to sleep.
That night I dreamt, as if I was in a room and Shrila Prabhupada was sitting and chanting on a mala without a bead bag. I offered my pranam and stood in front of him. He slowly opened his eyes and offered me the beads on which he was chanting. I hesitated to take the mala on which he had chanted thinking that it belonged to him. Then I told him that I don’t think I can take it. Shrila Prabhupada took the beads, placed the mala in a bead bag and left it on a shelf next to him. Suddenly I realized that he was not happy since I did not accept the mala. So I requested him to give me the mala . Immediately he handed me the bead bag with the mala and said in a forceful voice “Chant”. I was so happy and thankful to him. Later I could not see him. But I stood there wondering what to chant: “Nityananda”, “Gauranga” or the Hare krishna maha mantra.
So I request Swami Gaurangapada to help me understand this dream properly.
What was Shrila Prabhupada’s message or instruction for me.

Thanks Bilvaji for sharing. One should chant Nityananda Gauranga Naam and the Hare Krishna Mahamantra both and not one as a substitution from the other even though They are the Names of the same Lord. Those who feel and want to take more shelter of Nityananda Gauranga Naam to quickly remove the offenses against Hari Naam in the beginning should still chant at least 4 rounds of the Hare Krishna Mahamantra (Granthi) daily as recommended by Seventh Goswami Shrila Saccidananda Bhaktivinoda Thakura in Hari Naam Chintamani and then gradually increase it up to at least 16 rounds of Hari Naam.
While chanting the Hare Krishna Mahamantra, one can meditate on how the Hari Naam in full glory as Prema Naam is emanating from the divine mouth of the Supreme Lord Gauranga Himself...gaya gora madhura svare...By meditating on Lord Gauranga while chanting Hari Naam, one will have the direct vision of Shri Shri Radha Krishna very quickly by the causeless mercy of Lord Gaurahari. Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! Jaya Guru Parampara! Pranams :pranams: and Blessings :bless:!
