Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna!

Dear Swami Gaurangapada, all glories to you!

It is said that all truth and secrets are within Naam. It is also said that our eternal relation with Lord will be revealed by chanting and our surrendering to Naam. There is no need to speculation and mental concoctions – only way is Naam.

But, unfortunately in modern vaishnava society we can see that there are many, many different understandings and philosophies. Therefore, in order to support Nityananda-Gauranga Naam practice student should have vast knowledge in finding proper understanding and in presenting eternal siddhantha. With that attention, I am asking several questions only from philosophical purposes, and I am holding such topics high, high above my head.

1. There are numerous vaishnava groups that state that without getting “proper initiation” and siddha-pranali our chanting and meditation is not complete. They advocate practice of meditating on siddha-deha or service to Radha-Krishna in Goloka in manjari-deha. I have never heard that Bhaktivinoda Thakura or Shrilla Bhaktisidhantha Sarasvati Thakura approved such practice. How we should answer to such statements?

2.Some devotees advocates that in our Gaudiya lineage all devotees eternally belongs to madhurya rasa and that sakhya-rasa is not possible for followers of Rupa-Sanatama-Bhaktivinoda-Bhaktisiddhantha-Prabhupada. They said that Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu should be worshiped with that goal and that was reason why Bhaktisiddhantha installed only Deities of Shri Chaitanya next to Radha-Krishna. They said that priya-narma-sakya bhava was only present in twelve cowherd boys – dvadasa gopala associates of Lord Nityananda and that such practice or worship is not possible in this age, and that we all belong to madhurya rasa?

3. Some devotees advices that we should pay attention only to sound of mantra while chanting and that any thoughts should be discarded while chanting. Others say that while chanting we should meditate to Form, Pastimes, Associates and Abodes of Lord and that such “thoughts” are welcome while chanting?

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! All glories, all glories to sublime chanting of Nityananda and Gauranga Mantrarajas! Gaurapremanande haribol!

You can read this thread: "http://www.gaurangapada.org/essays/3247-manjari-bhava-sadhana.html" and also the articles about siddha pranali and siddha deha in the Vanibase and the Prakrita Rasa Shata Dushani by Shri Shrila Prabhupada Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura.

Again answered in this essay.: "http://www.gaurangapada.org/essays/3247-manjari-bhava-sadhana.html"

One cannot simply pay attention to only sound. That is just engaging the ears. The mind should also be engaged in the Mantra. So the meditation on the Form (to begin with) and later the Qualities, Pastimes, Associates and Abodes is highly recommended while chanting japa or kirtana. It is the life of the chanting.
