Title: Serving prasadam
User: Swami Gaurangapada Date: 2006-11-15 14:06:00
Q. I have a question. A visiting devotee once said that if someone serves you prasadam, he takes away some of your sukriti (pious credit). Anyone ever hear anything like this? Any scriptural evidence? If this is a fact, Iím never letting anyone serve me again! In fact, Iíll be serving all over the place. Hey! This sounds like a good idea anyway! ę Less: "http://www.nitai.in/#"]More Ľ[URL="http://www.nitai.in/#"
† Answer by Swami: "http:///" Gaurangapada:
†This is no scriptural basis for this statement. Prasadam service is a transcendental activity and pious credits is a material thing. So there cannot be any connection. In fact, Shrila Rupa Goswami states that bhunkte bhojate chaivaÖmeans to accept prasadam from devotees and to serve them prasadam increases the love of Bhakti: "http:///". So actually it is actually the opposite, one gains rather than looses in this regard.
