Title: Nityananda Gauranga & Mahamantra

User: Chandrika Gauraga dasi††††††† Date: 2006-05-22 10:36:19

Dear Swami Gaurangapada, Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! Is the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra superior to the Nityananda Gauranga Mantrarajas in someway. I had understood that this was not the case. For the past 3 years you have preached that this is not the case.

I dont understand why one has to graduate from chanting Nityananda Gauranga to the Maha Mantra as Gauranga is simply Radha Krishna combined therefore to chant even Gauranga alone is in no way less advanced, less pure than or inferior in anyway to chanting the Maha Mantra, nor would it be any progression to chant only the Maha Mantra instead of Nityananda Gauranga.

I actually accepted the Maha Mantra before I accepted the Nityananda Gauranga Mantrarajas. I accepted the Maha Mantra in Vrindavan during Karthik 2002 and Nityananda Gauranga Mantrarajas one year later, from what I have understood of your preaching and realised myself, the fact that subsequently I started chanting Nityananda Gauranga was in no way a falldown, but was in fact an enrichment and a bonus rather, chanting Gauranga being like a condensed form of chanting Maha Mantra not only some kind of stepping stone to only chanting the Maha Mantra.

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! Nityananda Gauranga Naam are not only the means to Hari Naam but also the goal because every soul in our line attains two spiritual forms in Navadvipa-Puri and in Vraja. In the eternal Gaura lila, the soul chants Nityananda Gauranga Naam to please Shri Shri Nityananda Gauranga as described in Jaiva Dharma, and in Krishna lila, the soul chants Hari Naam to please Shri Shri Radha Krishna and vice versa too as both the pastimes are so closely related to each other.

Dear Swami Gaurangapada Gurudeva,

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna!

Please accept my humble obeisances at Your Lotus Feet.

Concerning this topic, i have been thinking that the devotees of Lord Nityananda Gauranga do chant the names of Radha Krishna too in Gaura lila. You have taught us, that the Pastimes of Lord Gauranga in Puri Dhama, when He is chanting and dancing in front of Lord Jagannath is an Eternal Pastime. Do the devotees and Lord Gauranga chant the names of Radha Krishna in this Pastime? Please enlighten me in this matter...

Another question which arises in my mind in connection with this topic is:

You teach us, that if we chant and dive deep into the Name of Gauranga, nothing else is required and Radha Krishna are effortlessly captured within our heart. On the other hand Shrila Bhaktivinoda Thakura says in Jaiva Dharma, that those souls who during their sadhana only worship Lord Gauranga, at the time of death attain their spiritual body only in Gaura lila. So my question is, is there some another requirement accompanying the chanting of Gauranga's name to, by side of relishing the Pastimes of Lord Gauranga, also enter and relish the Pastimes of Radha Krishna?

Looking forward to read Your enlightening answers,

Yours humbly,

Matus

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna!

A1. Yes, all the eternal associates of Lord Gauranga chant the Holy Names of Shri Shri Radha Krishna in Gauranga's pastimes to give pleasure to Lord Gauranga Himself as He Himself is absorbed is the eightfold daily pastimes of Shri Shri Radha Krishna simultaneously going on in Shri Vraja Dhaam.

A2. It depends on the constitutional position of the soul. gauranga gunete jhure nitya-lila taare sphure...Shrila Narottama Dasa Thakura states that one enters into Shri Shri Radha Krishna's eternal pastimes if one dives deep into Lord Gauranga's divine name and qualities. This happens only if the soul has a consitutional spiritual form in both the pastimes. If the soul is only an associate of Lord Gauranga and does not have a spiritual form in the Vraja lila, then Gauranga bhajana will take that soul only into Gauranga lila. Thus, Gauranga Naam is a divine touchstone which grants the soul all-perfection as per the soul's consitutional position.

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna!

What about a soul, whose constitutional position is in Gaura-lila, but during its sadhana just chants the names of Radha Krishna? Do situation like this exist? And if yes, what happens to such souls?

Thank You very much,

Yours humbly,

Matus

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! Shri Shri Radha Krishna will inspire and direct such a soul to Gauranga Naam and Lila so that such a soul can become situated in one's original constitutional position in Gaura lila.
