Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! Gurudeva, thank you so much for your emails. The emails you send really helped me to understand the importance of god in our life.† I had one question the shiviaties consider lord shiva to be everything.† they worship lord shiva in that way and lord shiva accepts their worship.† they also offer food to lord shiva and mata parvati and they eat the food so how come you said lord shiva only eats vishnu prasadam.† please clerify on that. thank you for everything.

Dear Madhavi, Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! The answer to your Dear Madhavi, Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! Actually Lord Shiva does not accept the offerings of those who worship him as God and do not accept his matser Lord Gauranga Krishna so their worship is useless. That is why devotees do not accept the prasadam which is offered to Lord Shiva by non-Vaishnavas as Lord Shiva does not accept them. But devotees blissful accept the maha-prasadam which devotees offer to Lord Shiva understanding he is the greatest Vaishnava.
Lord Shiva may act like a demigod and fufill some of their desires but he cheats such followers who do accept his mater and refuses to give them his real benedictions. The answer to your question is given by Shrila Vrindavana dasa Thakura in Shri Chaitanya Bhagavata Madhya Khanda Chp 10:
"Ravan was a great devotee of Lord Siva but he did not accept the Supremacy of Lord Ramchandra, who is the Lord of even Siva. Lord Siva was displeased with his devotee and did not receive his worship or service or offerings, so Ravan's worship was useless, hence he and his entire race was destroyed. Lord Siva does not convey to his devotees his personal feeling about their actions whether good or bad; whoever is sufficiently intelligent with understanding the desire of Lord Siva in his heart.
Text 151 154
"In the same way the followers of Advaita Acharya not understanding the desire of their master claim to be His disciples and criticize Lord Gauranga. Advaita Acharya does not tell them anything due to His specific nature, so because of neglecting the advice of other Vaishnavas and the inner desire of Advaita Acharya, they perish. These condemned persons do not understand that Advaita Acharya's exalted position and His mystic perfection are all due to the mercy of Lord Gauranga. And if anyone volunteers to instruct them on these matters they become enraged and go to strike their well wisher. Little do they know that Lord Gauranga's external potency Mayadevi is exceedingly powerful and She takes efficient care of such adamantly wayward souls."
"That is really happiness; to be absorbed into something supremely great which is the Lord and His Holy Names." -Swami Gaurangapada
