Title: Just relax

User: Swami Gaurangapada Date: 2006-10-05 14:13:00

Just relax, no need to think of this sad stuff.

Answer by Swami Gaurangapada:

But I don't want to die and let my soul go into another cage-like body of an animal in a relaxed manner. According to the Bhagavad Gita, the whole life is a preparation for the examination of death and it cannot be taken lightly. Self-Realization is an emergency as time is fast running out for our death. And once we get a spiritual body by self-realization then our soul can relax eternally in the divine pastimes of the Lord in the spiritual world.

Death is in itself the beginning of a new life, be it in the form of man or an means to experiment things, to enjoy the good things in the world around.

Answer by Swami Gaurangapada:

If you think that the body of an animal with entails untold suffering for the soul is good, I have nothing to say. You can freely experiment. But I choose to learn from the experience of the great souls in the Vedas rather than waste time in painfully experiencing it myself. Because as per the Vedas, once the soul is thrown into the 8.4 million species of life, it will take billions of years to get a human body again and it will be too late to go back on your experiment if you cannot go through it.

Doing good for others, thinking positive all the time....make a difference in others life.

Answer by Swami Gaurangapada:

Doing good to others is on two levels: doing good for their bodies and doing good to actually them who are spirit souls, not the body which is perishable. Both are surely required as the body is the vehicle to realize the soul. But doing good to others' bodies is also temporary just like the bodies are. So I choose to work for the permanent good of everyone's souls by giving them the Holy Names of the Lord which will be an eternal service to them not a service which will end with the body.

I would rather not think about my future and would instead think what I can do now to improve my present, to improve as a person.

Answer by Swami Gaurangapada:

If you do not plan for the future, then why are you working? Simply not for the fun of it. Everyone thinks of the future in one way or the other. But again everyone is thinking of only the material future, not the spiritual future. So a proper balance is required because simply improving the material future does not guarantee a bright spiritual future for the soul.

Improving the present is for improving the future. That is what I have been saying, live the life with God consciousness by daily chanting the Holy Names so that one can die in God consciousness and put an end to all suffering. In general, no student can come out with flying colors in the exam without studying regularly throughout the semester or by studying just on the last day before the exam. Similarly believe it or not, life is a preparation for the exam of death. And we will fail that exam if we neglect the spiritual requirements of the soul while living.
