> I have recently stumbled on to your website and have been reading. I am trying to understand why The Maha mantra is not enough for liberation. I am presently not initiated however I am >studying Shrila Prabhupada's books. I thought what Prabhupad taught was complete for liberation. Why is there a need for the Gauranga and Nityananda mantras? And since this is a science can I receive those mantras from you to practically use?
> Humbly, Warren
Answer by Swami Gaurangapada:
††† Dear Warren, Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna!
Thank you for your kind interest in the website. I hope it will help in your spiritual quest to attain pure love for the Lord.†
†According to Shrila Prabhupada, Acharyas and all the Scriptures the Hare Krishna Mahamantra is enough for the ultimate liberation if and only if it is chanted offenselessly. But that is very difficult for the conditioned soul of Kali Yuga. You can read my book at http://mahamantrayoga.gaurangapada.com: "http://mahamantrayoga.gaurangapada.com/" for further details on how the offenses affect the chanting of the Hare Krishna Mahamantra.
Shrila Prabhupada's teachings are complete and it in his teachings only that he says that a neophyte student should not directly indulge in the chanting of the Hare Krishna Mahamantra otherwise he or she will not get the result. Instead in the beginning, he instructs that one should take whole-hearted shelter of the Holy Names of Nityananda and Gauranga to
become qualified to chant the offenseless the Hare Krishna Mahamantra. You can also see the slideshow of Shrila Prabhupada instructions on the paramount importance of chanting the Holy Names of Nityananda and Gauranga at the following url:
As for your next question, why there is a need to chant the Nityananda and Gauranga Mantrarajas, all questions, all answers nd all statements from the Acharyas and Scriptures regarding the supreme glories and reasons to chant Holy Names of Nityananda and Gauranga can be found in our ebook Nityananda Gauranga Nama available at http://nama.gaurangapada.com: "http://nama.gaurangapada.com/".
As for your third question, you can surely receive Mahadiksha in the Nityananda and Gauranga Mantrarajas and later in the Hare Krishna Mahamantra when you reach the stage of Harinama (25,000 Names) daily. We would like that you first read and understand the supreme glories of Holy Names of Nityananda and Gauranga from the above site.
The stages, requirements and process for Mahadiksha are described under the Category Mahadiksha Science in the left tree menu of the main portal www.Gaurangapada.com: "http://www.Gaurangapada.com". You have start from any one stage of the Chanting described in the table and gradually advance to the next stage of chanting and Mantra Meditation.
