Nityananda, Gauranga, Hare Krishna!
My dearest Swamiji Gaurangapada,
I recently saw a documentary on Hanuman and learned about the 'Hanuman chalisa' as in 'http://www.hanuman.com/' and have a few questions:
As Hanuman is very dear to Shri Rama and Sita, how are we to offer our respect to this very special devotee?
How does the Hanuman chalisa relate to the daily chanting of our beloved mantras? Will it lead us towards more or better bhakti?
Yours in the service of the Holy Names of Nityananda, Gauranga and Hare Krishna,

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! You can read about the glories of Shrila Hanuman's supreme loving devotion to Shri Shri Sita Ram from Shri Brihad Bhagavatamrita and from Shrila Valmiki's Ramayana and you can chant the verses there glorifying Hanuman. Also you can read the pastimes of Shrila Murari Gupta in Gauranga's pastimes, who is none other than Shrila Hanuman from Rama lila. You can recite the Ramashtakam composed by him to get his mercy.
Though Hanuman Chalisa is nice devotional composition, it has been composed by Shri Tulasidas, who even though a good devotee, happens to come in the Ramananda sampradaya which is not considered a pure Vaishnava line as per our six Goswamis of Vrindavana since it has some impersonal philosophical tinges. So we do not find that Hanuman Chalisa chanting has been recommended by any of our Gaudiya Acharyas.
So we accept the original 11,000 verse Ramayana written by Shrila Valimiki and recited by Luv and Kush in front of Lord Rama Himself as authentic and bonafide and we do not fully accept the Ramacharit Manas written later by Shri Tulasidas.
