Title: Gaura Narayana
User: Swami Gaurangapada Date: 2006-08-08 13:06:00
As Lord Krishna appear once in a day of Lord Brahma, so is Lord Chaitanya. But I was told to me that He does not appear always in His original form as Radha-Krishna combined, but as Gaura Narayana. Would you elaborate more on this please?
† Answer by Swami Gaurangapada:† Yes, the orginal Lord Krishna and Lord Gauranga appear only once in the 28th Dvapara Yuga and Kali Yuga of the 7th Manu, once in a day of Brahma. One Divya Yuga is made of 4,320,000 years so 12 hours of Brahma have 4,320,000,000 years and 24 hours of Brahma have 8,640,000,000 years i.e. in 8.64 billion years Lord Krishna and Lord Gauranga come only once.
In other Dvapara and Kali Yugas, there are Yuga avataras which come to establish the Yuga Dharma. In every Dvapara, a blackish avatara Shyama comes who establishes the Yuga Dharma of Temple Worship in Dvapara and in even Kali, a yellow avatara of Gaura or Gaura Narayana comes to vestablish the Yuga Dharma of Kirtana in Kali Yuga. These Yuga Avataras may be svamshas or directly explansions of Lord Vishnu or souls like us who have been empowered as the Yuga Avatara (Shaktyavesha). So this Gaura Narayana avatara is not a combined form of Shri Shri Radha and Krishna and thus teaches nama sankirtana but not the vraja prema nama sankirtana which can be taught and distributed the original avatari Lord Gauranga-Krishna Himself.
Q.Another question is, when the Lord is coming out of His temple as Lord Jagannatha, Baladeva and Subhadra, is it allowed to let people touch the Lord's body with their hands???
Answer by Swami Gaurangapada: Yes, during the Return Ratha Bahuda, when the Ratha reaches Singha Dvara, everyone can climb on the Ratha and embrace the Lords. This happens before and after the golden Sonara Vesha (dressing) a few days before the Lords enter into the temple again.
