Q. by Lila Gauranga dasa:
Do not think that
association means to merely to sit together in physical proximity. No, now you
are reading this Gaura katha, that is also association. This is the topmost
form of association. To associate and hear from Nityananda Bhaktas and Gauranga
Bhaktas. That will grant us strong faith in this order of Lord Nityananda to
tirelessly chant and preach the chanting of Gauranga Nama Lila Sankirtana.
Thank you for
understanding this quote. I would like to quote from my Parama Gurudeva Shrila
Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura Prabhupada to throw more light on this statement:
Shrila Bhaktisiddhanta
Sarasvati Thakura抯 letter to one of his disciples from Sri Caitanya Math, Mayapur,
December 22, 1927:
"Even though in this world we don抰 get to meet many devotees from the spiritual world, the
conversations and pastimes of the devotees of
Gauranga Mahaprabhu抯 time eternally exist in the form of books and sound, and that is
why we do not feel so much pain from material troubles. If we live here in the
association of the words of the spiritual world in this way, then the memory of
this association will keep us at a distance from material misery."
So he means that real sadhu sanga or association is the
association of the great Gauranga Parshadas or eternal devotees of Lord
Gauranga Mahaprabhu which everyone can receive by reading or hearing Their
pastimes in Shri Chaitanya Bhagavata, Shri Chaitanya Chandramrita, Shri
Navadvipa Dhama Mahatmya, Shri Chaitanya Mangala & Shri Chaitanya
Charitamrita. Even more than reading philosophy, when one reads the pastimes of
Lord Gauranga intimate associates in Gauranga lila and chants Their Holy Names,
one makes tremendous spiritual advancement and one will never feel alone.
