Commentary by His Holiness
BRS Swami Gaurangapada

aisvaryasya samagrasya
viryasya yasasah sriyah
jnana-vairagyayos caiva
shannam bhaga itingana

Bhaga. These are opulences. Aisvarya means opulence and... Aisvaryasya samagrasya viryasya. Viryasya means strength. And yasasah. Yasasah means fame. And aisvaryasya viryasya yasasah sriyah. Sriyah means beauty. And jnana. Jnana means knowledge. And renunciation, vairagya. Renunciation. These six opulences, when you find presented in a personality in full, He is God. He is God.

(1) Strength
(2) Fame
(3) Wealth
(4) Knowledge

His Holiness Swami Gaurangapada : The Supreme reservoir of knowledge is Lord Gauranga Krishna and any knowledge anyone else has, it comes from him, it is all borrowed from the Lord.
The Lord confirms this by saying he is the source of all knowledge as the supersoul in the heart who give all inspiration to all the souls, he says thisin Bhagavad Gita.

sarvasya caham hridi sannivishto
mattah smritir jnanam apohanam ca
vedais ca sarvair aham eva vedyo
vedanta-krid veda-vid eva caham
sarvasya-of all living beings; ca-and; aham-I; hridi-in the heart; sannivishtah-situated; mattah-from Me; smritih-remembrance; jnanam-knowledge; apohanam-forgetfulness; ca-and; vedaih-by the Vedas; ca-also; sarvaih-all; aham-I am; eva-certainly; vedyah-knowable; vedanta-krit-the compiler of the Vedanta; veda-vit-the knower of the Vedas; eva-certainly; ca-and; aham-I.
I am seated in everyone's heart, and from Me come remembrance, knowledge and forgetfulness. By all the Vedas, I am to be known. Indeed, I am the compiler of Vedanta, and I am the knower of the Vedas.

His Holiness Swami Gaurangapada : He is the knower and the author of the vedas, as the vedas come from the breath of the Lord. No living entity has the capability to understand the knowledge that emanates from the lord.

vedaham samatitani
vartamanani carjuna
bhavishyani ca bhutani
mam tu veda na kascana
veda-know; aham-I; samatitani-completely past; vartamanani-present; ca-and; arjuna-O Arjuna; bhavishyani-future; ca-also; bhutani-all living entities; mam-Me; tu-but; veda-knows; na-not; kascana-anyone.
O Arjuna, as the Supreme Personality of Godhead, I know everything that has happened in the past, all that is happening in the present, and all things that are yet to come. I also know all living entities; but Me no one knows.

His Holiness Swami Gaurangapada : so in that way, the lord he knows the past , present and future, of all living entities.PhD, MSc degrees are nothing in comparison to the knowledge of the Lord.
This is the extent of the lords knowledge, he knows the past , present and future of everyone, what we desired in the past and what we will desire in the future. He knows everything that is happening inisde and out and in this planet and all other universe, even in the black holes, what is going through the mind of an insect flying in the air, how long it will live, when will the creation end, when will it be created...the Lord knows everything, so he is the ultimate reservoir of all knowledge, noone can even compare to his knowledgabilty.
People with degrees, like MSC and PHD, they think they have become equal to God, but that knowledge is actually very insignificant, even after getting their degree, they dont know what is going on inside themselves, their knowledge is very limited. Krishna says to Arjuna, that he knows a little about his own body, but Krishna he says he knows about all bodies in creation

kshetra-jnam capi mam viddhi
sarva-kshetreshu bharata
kshetra-kshetrajnayor jnanam
yat taj jnanam matam mama
kshetra-jnam-the knower of the field; ca-also; api-certainly; mam-Me; viddhi-know; sarva-all; kshetreshu-in bodily fields; bharata-O son of Bharata; kshetra-the field of activities (the body); kshetra-jnayoh-and the knower of the field; jnanam-knowledge of; yat-that which; tat-that; jnanam-knowledge; matam-opinion; mama-My.
O scion of Bharata, you should understand that I am also the knower in all bodies, and to understand this body and its knower is called knowledge. That is My opinion.
Gita 13.3

His Holiness Swami Gaurangapada : This is a beautiful verse in Bhagavad Gita, 13.3,
There is nothing in creation which He does not know. Krishna says that the difference between him and Arjuna, is that Arjuna is the knower of only his body, but he Krishna knows about all the souls, so that is an example of how gigantic his knowledge is, there is nothing in creation that he does not know. Because the creation is his, he is non different from his creation. He is pervading the whole creation in his impersonal form as Brahmajoti so nothing is hidden from him. People sin in this world thinking noone knows, but actually the Lord knows, there is no action we can hide from the lord. If he does not give a sanction we cant even do a thing. Without a sanction from the Lord then we cant do an action let alone hide it.

tesham satata-yuktanam
bhajatam priti-purvakam
dadami buddhi-yogam tam
yena mam upayanti te
tesham-unto them; satata-yuktanam-always engaged; bhajatam-in rendering devotional service; priti-purvakam-in loving ecstasy; dadami-I give; buddhi-yogam-real intelligence; tam-that; yena-by which; mam-unto Me; upayanti-come; te-they.
To those who are constantly devoted to serving Me with love, I give the understanding by which they can come to Me.
Gita 10.10

tesham evanukampartham
aham ajnana-jam tamah
nasayamy atma-bhava-stho
jnana-dipena bhasvata
tesham-for them; eva-certainly; anukampa-artham-to show special mercy; aham-I; ajnana-jam-due to ignorance; tamah-darkness; nasayami-dispel; atma-bhava-within their hearts; sthah-situated; jnana-of knowledge; dipena-with the lamp; bhasvata-glowing.
To show them special mercy, I, dwelling in their hearts, destroy with the shining lamp of knowledge the darkness born of ignorance.
Bhagavad Gita

His Holiness Swami Gaurangapada : This is causeless mercy. The 5th opulence of the Lord is .

(5) Renunciation
His Holiness Swami Gaurangapada : Renunciation is a quality of the Lord that he exhibits.
It is a greatness, people become attached to those who are renounced, the Lord exhibits this quality, that even though he is the proprieter and everything comes from him, still he is detached from it all.
There is a beautiful pastime, Vasudevaya data came to meet Gauranga in Puri from Navadwip, he was crying, very very sad. The Lord asked him what is the cause of his pain and he said that the cause of his pain is that so many souls in this creation are suffering, so many souls are suffering in so many different universe and he wanted to take all of their suffering and their karma, he asked that Gauranga should take them to the spiritual world as he could not bear their suffering , he said they have forgotten the Lord and as a result they are suffering so much, so please take them to your spiritual kingdom and relieve them. I am ready to take all their sins on my head and will suffer for them in hell as long as you take them into your pastimes. He could not bear to see their suffering any longer.
So Gauranga heard this in Gambhira Dhama and started crying seeing the love of his great devotee, he also felt he wanted to please his devotee. To get out of the suffering we should become dear to someone who is dear to the Lord then we can conquer the cycle of birth and death, he may not hear everyones prayers, but he hears the prayers of his great devotees. So Gaurangas heart melted in cpmpassion and said no problem i will terminate the cycle of birth and death for all the living entities and you dont have to suffer dear Vasudevaya, (he was an incarnation of Prahlad in Gaurangas pastimes)

My dear Lord Nrsinghadeva, though I am emerged in hearing an dchanting your glories and pastimes, i have noo unhappiness because i am absorbed in mahamrita, in the nectar of your pastimes, but i am lamenting

The pure devotees of the Lord dont sit idle as they are so concerned about the welfare of the souls, they dont want any soul to take any more births, so the Lord says he will liberate one universe, in all the universes, this is like a small mustard seed, in a bag of mustard seeds which are my material worlds, so Vasudevaya I will terminate this whole material creation, now i am saving the souls of one universe as per your request, but i can even dismantle this whole material creation if you desire
So Gauranga here is showing his quality of detachment, vairagya, that even though he has created the creation, he is ready to dismantle it fully as per the desire of his one devotee.
He is detached from it, everything is automatically going on by the demigods arrangements , but the Lord will finish it all off for the desire of his one devotee, that is his detachment.

Gauranga left his wife and family and shaved up. He even left his wife who is non different from the goddess of fortune. So that is the quality of detachment he shows. Like when Rama Chandra renounced Sita to maintain the ideal discipline. Sita is eternally pure and he cannot live one moment without her but he left her. So the Lord teaches us and shows us the quality of renunciation.
