3.3 Absolute vs relational nature of time

Philosophers also debate upon the nature of the time to be either absolute or relational. According to Newton and Kant, time exists independently on the space-time events in the physical world and this theory is termed as absolute theory of time. On the other hand, philosophers such as Leibniz and Reinbach have proposed that time exists because events exist. This theory is termed as the relational theory of time. However, both theories can be interpreted and analyzed to be beyond the jurisdiction of science and could be mere speculations; from the logical point of view, both can be accepted to be equally justified.
