Title: Final lesson of Shrilla Haridasa Thakura
User: Igor Date: 2006-07-16 17:19:22
Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! All glories to Swami Gaurangapada! All glories to Guru Parampara! All glories to divine Nityananda and Gauranga Mantrarajas and all glories to Hare Krishna Maha Mantra!
Who is greater authority for chanting Holy Names then Shrilla Haridasa Thakura? He constantly chanted Holy Name, day and night, and his glories are really unlimited. Shrila Krishnadasa Kaviraja Goswami in Chaitanya Charitamrita in this most touching verse describes last moments of our Great Naam Acharya Shrilla Haridasa Thakura on this planet:
‘shri-krishna-chaitanya’ sabda karite uccarana
namera sahita prana kaila utkramana
"While chanting the holy name of Shri Krishna Chaitanya, Shrila Haridasa Thakura gave up his life air and left his body just like Shrila Bhishmadeva had left his body beholding the lotus face of Lord Krishna on the battlefield."
Shri Chaitanya Charitamrita Antya 11.56.
Mission of pure devotees like Shrilla Haridasa Thakura is to teach fallen conditioned souls. They are not teaching only by their words or preaching, but also with their practical example. It is also stated that most important moment in our life is actually moment of death, that all our activities, thoughts, sacrifices, chanting, knowledge and meditations will determine our thoughts in time of our death.
Shrilla Haridasa Thakura chanted Lord Krishna’s Names 300.000 daily, and practically chanting of Maha Mantra was his whole life. But here we can see that he gave up his life air and left his body while chanting Holy Name of Lord Chaitanya, or Gauranga. For us, followers of followers of followers of his footsteps, that is of great importance. It is obvious that there is no difference between Names Krishna and Gauranga, otherwise great Nama Acharya Shrilla Haridasa Thakura will not left his body by chanting Holy Name of Lord Gauranga. He showed practically that there is no difference; otherwise he will chant Maha Mantra with his last breath. This supreme chanting of Gauranga Naam is most authoritative process and we can see that Shrilla Haridasa Thakura is teaching us that most confidentional truth.
Persons who do not realize that there is no difference between Gauranga Naam and Krishna Naam can not understand this most important secret and reason why he chanted Lord Gauranga’s Name at the end of his life, and yet they are accepting Shrilla Haridasa Thakura to be greatest Nama acharya for all Gaudiya Vaishnavas. If they are accepting him to be their most glorious and worshipable Naam Acharya they should also accept that there is no difference between Krishna Naam and Gauranga Naam, because Shrilla Haridasa Thakura made his legacy with his last breath – he chanted Name of Shri Krishna Chaitanya. Therefore, we must conclude that Names of Lord Gauranga are Supreme and Most Merciful Names among all Principal Names of Supreme Personality of Godhead, and that was final lesson of our glorious Naam Acharya Shrila Haridasa Thakura.

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! Nice verses in Bengali. If you can please remove the diacritic marks for the verses and text which you post in the forum and blog it will be good as those symbols create problems with the RSS feeds. You can use this converter: "http://www.gaurangapada.org/convert.html" to remove the Balaram diacritic marks and make it normal text. Just paste your Balaram text in the box and click Remove Balaram and you will get the normal text. Then you can copy it and paste it on the forum or blog. This is a request for other devotees too. It will better if you can directly type in the forum or blog text box or in a simple plain txt notepad file while saving it and then paste it there. The inverted commas typed in word also create problems. I am posting the link to the shortcuts to the forum smilies in my next posts.
