Q. How can one see Shri Shri Radha Govinda in the Gauranga Mantra?

Shri Chaitanya Bhagavata, Adi Khanda 5.125:
mora mantra japi’ more karaha aahvaana
rahite naa paari aami, aasi tomaa-sthaana
Lord Gauranga Mahaprabhu told the pure brahmana who was chanting the Gopala Mantra to offer bhoga to the Lord: “You chant My Mantra and invoke and invite Me to accept your offerings, so I cannot resist Myself and have come before you."
Gaudiya Bhashya by Shrila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura Prabhupada:
“You invite Me by chanting My Mantra, therefore I come and accept the foodstuffs you offer.” Some people consider that worshiping and offering foodstuffs to Gauranga is performed by chanting the Gopala-mantra, and by chanting this Mantra He accepts the offering. Up to the time when Deity worship of Shri Gaurangasundara was introduced in the world, He was worshiped through Krishna-mantras; but after the covered form of Krishna, the origin of all incarnations, mercifully manifested His Own Form of Gauranga, Name and Deity to His most confidential devotees. At that time the Lord’s devotees began to worship the Deity of Shri Gauranga by revealing the eternal Holy Names and Mantras of Lord Gauranga. Those who are bereft of receiving the mercy of the covered incarnation of Lord Gauranga simply make a show of worshiping the Deity form of Shri Gaurangasundara with Krishna-mantras, but Shri Gauranga is not worshiped in this way. Such people are cheated out of Krishna’s mercy, because they do not realize that Gauranga’s Name and Pastimes are eternal.
If one chants offenselessly Krishna-mantras, then Krishna or Gaurangasundara, accepts his or her chanting and manifests before the chanter. But if one differentiates between Gauranga and Krishna or does not have full faith, then his or her unauthorized endeavors for chanting Krishna-mantras do not qualify him to see the form of Krishna in Gaurasundara and his or her progress towards freedom from material existence is checked. Therefore it is often found that a worshiper has normally a lack of taste for worshiping Gaurangasundara by chanting Krishna-mantras. Those who do not realize that the worship of Gaurangasundara by chanting the Gauranga Mantra is the same as worship of Krishna are deprived by Shri Ramananda Raya from receiving the mercy of Gauranga and the darshana of Gandharvika-Giridhari. Due to the four defects of imperfect senses, the propensity for cheating, certainty of committing mistakes, and certainty of being illusioned, such people are unable to see Shri Radha-Govinda in Shri Gaurangasundara and the chanting of His Holy Name. Thus, according to the purport of the second of the four original Bhagavatam verses, such people develop mundane endeavors or vision towards Shri Gaurangasundara and become disqualified to see Him. Considering Gaurangasundara as different from Krishna, such people with insignificant material vision very offensively see Him simply as a sannyasi, a religious reformer, or a pseudo-sentimental saint and thus fall down from spiritual life."

In the above verse Lord Gauranga states that the 10-syllable Gopala Mantra is His own Mantra. The brahmana was invoking Lord Gopala and Lord Gauranga says that you were calling Me. There are hundreds of such instances in Shri Chaitanya Bhagavata where Lord Gauranga Himself and Shrila Vrindavana dasa Thakura have used the descriptions of the Holy Name and Glories of Lord Krishna for Lord Gauranga because They are one and the same.
