How to chant Nityananda Gauranga

At your site it is posted: Become eternally happy by Mantra Yoga Meditation on the three Kings of all Naam Mantras in Kali Yuga: (1) Nityananda; (2) Gauranga; and (3) Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare, Hare Raam Hare Raam Raam Raam Hare Hare!

How exactly does one chant Gauranga & Nityananda japa? Does one do a full round or several rounds of Gauranga, then rounds of Nityananda, or, does one combine and chant rounds of Gauranga Nityananda?

Also, since Gauranga is a four syllable mantra, is it pronounced Gau Ra An Ga, or can it be said to sound like three syllables.. Gaur An Ga? Are there any audio files available so one can hear these mantras being chanted as japa?

Replies below. Comments welcome.

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! Jaya Shri Guru Parampara! Pranams! Thanks for your questions.

(1) One should ideally chant one round of the Nityananda Mantraraja first and then one separate round of the Gauranga (Gaura Gopala) Mantraraja as instructed by Lord Gauranga to Shrila Murari Gupta about the sequence of worship of Lords Nityananda Gauranga. For those who chant a lot of rounds of the Nityananda and Gauranga Mantrarajas, it is still advisable to chant separate rounds of the two Mantras to keep intact the actual number of syllables in each Mantra and not mix the two Mantras during one round of japa since addition or subtraction to a Mantra is not advisable. In such a case of chanting many rounds of Nityananda Gauranga on tulasi beads, one can chant 4 or 8 or 16 of the same Mantra on each bead instead of mixing both the Mantras in one round to reduce the total number of rounds overall. This provision is specifically given for the case of chanting many rounds of the Nityananda Gauranga Mantrarajas on tulasi beads in order to minimize the pain caused to the fingers because the fingers have to rapidly move while turning the beads while chanting the shorter Nityananda Gauranga Mantrarajas unlike the process of chanting the Hare Krishna Mahamantra on beads during which one's thumb and fingers get some rest on each bead due to the length of the 16 Name Hare Krishna Mahamantra. Also, it is easier to fully focus and meditate on the form and pastimes of Lord Nityananda while chanting the Nityananda Mantraraja separately and to fully focus and meditate on the form and pastimes of Lord Gauranga while chanting the Gaura Gopala Mantraraja separately. So it is advisable and recommended by me to chant Them separately though ultimately there is no hard and fast rules and regulations to chant the Holy Names.

(2) The four-syllables of the Gaura Gopala Mantra for the purpose of our understanding are: GAU RA A NGA. While chanting the Mantra, it is incorrect to chant it by breaking it up into syllables. While chanting the Mantra, it is chanted as ONE NAME: GAURAANGA, without any stress on breaking it up syllable-wise.

I will record the exact pronunciation of the Mantrarajas and the syllables also in the next comment to this post. Thanks again for your interest and relevant questions.

If you have Real Player installed, I think it should display a download arrow link for the mp3 embedded in this comment player. Meanwhile I will find some means of providing the direct url for downloading this mp3 from Riffly's servers.
