Dear Maharaj

Please accept my humble obeisances! All glories to Sri Sri Guru and Gauranga!

Please accept my apologies for not writing in for so long and not thanking you for your so kind replies to my previous queries.

I am back with two new queries at your merciful lotus feet.

1. There was a devotee at our house last Sunday. He asked a question , that we get hungry , we eat and then we are full and we stop. After sometime we get hungry again we eat and we stop and this cycle goes on and on.
He said also for our spiritual sadhna ,we do some pooja or chanting in morning, then we stop and after some time we do same and then we stop, so what is the  difference between the two. They both look routine jobs.
And what will happen when we go to spiritual world. wont it get boring there also after some time

how to answer these questions maharaj, i dont think I was qualified to answer these, so i thought i will ask you and then answer him.

2. as I had asked in my last mail about Tulsi jee. Since it is confirmed they  are not Tulsi, should I keep serving them or what should I do.I have now 3 Tulsis also (2 Krishna Tulsi and 1 Rama Tulsi) and it  is difficult to take care for all of them and I have lost the enthusiasm also knowing that they are not actually Tulsi Maharani. I want to concentrate  only on real Tulsis. but I am really confused as to what to do or what not to do.
kindly guide me Maharaj.

Many many thanks in advance.
Your aspiring servant

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! Thank you for your queries.

(1) I do not know how a devotee can make these kind of statements. It means that the devotee himself is not getting any realizations in Bhakti or not making any advancement and stagnating oneself in Bhajana and Bhakti has become just like routine work for him. This is precisely why Shrila Prabhupada named it Krishna Consciousness because even more then what you do, it is your consciousness that matters.

Naam and Bhajana realizations and experiences are nothing like eating. Eating is for our material body and chanting and seva is for our soul. So the mundane eating example cannot be stretched too far into the spiritual realm.

The divine activities of Bhakti like japa, kirtana, seva etc. may externally look like routine work but the spiritual realizations, experiences and the transcendental bliss felt during them increase at every moment and every day. I can personally state that the Holy Names are so deep, every time I sing or chant Them, I get totally unique realizations and visions of the Lord. This is because the Lord is so infinite. And so are His Holy Names.

Even a tiny glimpse of the Holy Names is ever-fresh and new when we chant in this material world. Then how can one ever say that we will be bored in the spiritual world when we are face to face with the infintely beautiful Lord, His abode and His associates. This utterly foolish statement about getting bored in Goloka is made by some Mayavadis to minimize Bhakti and and cannot be expected from a devotee who has experienced even a tiny particle of bliss in the performance of Naam Bhakti Yoga.

(2) You can go and re-plant those plants which are not Tulasi in some nearby garden where they can grow nicely and obtain real Tulasi plants for your daily worship.

Please do keep your nice questions coming and I hope both of you are advancing in Gaura Krishna rasa bhavita matih.

Daaso'smi, Swami Gaurangapada.

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! All Glories to Sri Guru and Gauranga! please accept my humble obeisances.
I thought that was a strange statement too as I also had heard it recently in a lecture somewhere equating bhakti with when we get hungry , we eat and then we are full and we stop. After sometime we get hungry again we eat and we stop and this cycle goes on and on.

Personally to me bhakti is like breathing, you never stop while alive, yes sometimes we go through spiritual depression and give up performing the rituals etc, but we dont get tired of breathing for me it is the same as remembering Nityaananda Gauraanga and Hare Krishna!

So as Srila Prabhupada said "In this age, chanting of Hare Krishna is the prime business of the devotee, and preaching of this Hare Krishna mantra by outdoor sankirtana and propogation of literature is our more important business. Side by side, Deity worship is recommended, but when there is a question of accepting one of them, we shall prefer to accept chanting of Hare Krishna mantra first."
.......Srila Prabhupada letter to Hansadutta, 5th September 1969

and in our case we have a special blessing of chanting Nityaananda Gauraanga and Hare Krishna!

If you constantantly make the effort of consciously remembering their names while going about your daily business
you will become so empowered it will become impossible to stop or ever get fed up!

Daaso'smi pamho.

Thank you very much Maharaj for your kind and enlightening replies.
The person who asked this has recently started his spiritual sadhna. But he looks very sincere, so please bless him also along with us, so that we can also taste one drop of nectar of Holy names.
Maharaj, do you also visit Europe some times? If so, then we would like to invite you at our small naam hatta group to inspire all of us.

Many many thanks Maharaj and my humble pranams again
Yours aspiring servant
