Title: Tulasi is present after she left Her body User: Gouranga dasa Date: 2007-05-30 23:52:31
Dearest Swami Gouranga Pada Goswami.
Respects and All Glories to Sri Vaisnava Sangam,
We Understand a living entity is seperate from their body, so how do we understand Tulsi Maharani is still non different to her wood after she has left her body and we wear her transcendental wood as neck beads/ Japa beads? is it not that she has left that body behind as it no longer grows? How is it still non different to Her?
Gauranga Nitais grace is upon us all let us take the nectar and give it to all!!!!
Dasa anu dasa.

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! Jaya Guru Parampara! Pranams and Blessings ! Tulasidevi does not possess a material body like mortal living entities since She is a personal Associate of the Lord in the spiritual world. Her spiritual body is absolute and non-different from her soul which means all parts of her divine body are transcendental and non-different from herself just like the Lord.
Also Lord Krishna Himself gave her the benediction that her hair etc. will become the Tulasi plant and she will personally remain in this world as the Tulasi plant to give her divine association to and deliver the fallen conditioned souls. She agreed to do so and thus she is personally present in the form of the Tulasi plant without a doubt. She has expanded herself into millions of plant forms and she is personally present in each one of them. The Tulasi japa, neck beads etc. are considered her (pure devotee) paraphernalia, that is why they have transcendental purifying potency just like all the other divine paraphernalia of the pure devotees. They contain her potency and presence as they are also spiritual.

My pranams Maharaj
please accept my humble obeisances ! All glories to Sri Sri Guru and Gauranga!
I have some Tulsis at my home, seeds for which I purchased online which did say ,seeds for holy basil. The seeds were black in color. They are growing now. Recently I was seeing some pictures on internet of various kind of basils, which put me in doubt whether to Tulsi I have is holy basil or some other. I have these pictures here (attached along)
Can it be confirmed? I would be really grateful.
Your servant Preeti

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! Jaya Guru Parampara! Pranams and Blessings ! It looks certainly different than the Krishna Tulasi plant which we worship here in India which is the best for worship. Also I don't see the soft manjaris (seeds) growing. Maybe it is a variant of the Thai Basil or Raama Tulasi or some others.
I would suggest you specifcally get the seeds or plant of Ocimum sanctum which is the botanical name for Krishna (Blackish) Tulasi which is very dear to the Lord. The binomial name of Krishna Tulasi is Ocimum tenuiflorum. Just to show you some examples, you can order Krishna Tulasi seeds from here or here on Ebay. You can check first whether they ship to Germany or not.

Thankyou very much for your reply Maharaj.
When I bought the seeds, on packet they had mentioned the binomial name as Ocimum tenuiflorum. For Manjaris , they are growing but I usually clip them because one devotee here was telling me that when Tulsi is very young, you should not allow her to seed, as it is very straining for her. But her app is putting me in doubt also. I would imm look at the links provided and find out if they can ship it to Germany.
Many many thanks Maharaj Hare Krishna and my obesiances Your aspiring servant Preeti
