Nityananda Gauranga Hare Krsna
Just one more prasadam related question.

Today is ekadashi, so I just want to ask -
What is happening with grains that are prasadam (offered day before ekadashi)? Are they remain spiritual or they become "contaminated" on Ekadashi?

Answer by Swami Gaurangapada:

Prasadam never becomes contaminated. Even the grains cooked on Ekadashi and offered to the Lord can be eaten on the next day. We fast from all kinds of grain food on Ekadashi because Lord Gauranga ordered us to fast (to Shachimata in Shri Chaitanya Charitamrita and in Prema Vivarta) so we know that if we cook grains on Ekadashi for our own eating on Ekadashi and offer it, the Lord will not accept it and He will not destroy the sins in it. But if we offer the Lor.d grains on Ekadashi for His pleasure (not for us) as He never has to fast, then He accepts them and we can eat that grain prasadam the next day. Nice question.   Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! Jaya Guru Parampara! Pranams  and Blessings !
