Vegetarian Shepherds Pie

Posted on Forum by Chandrika Gauranga dasi

The senses are wild and need to be kept in order. In India a Goswami is "one who has mastered the senses" (Go can mean the senses, or Go can also mean herded creatures, in which case the "Goswami" is the Shepherd of the wild animals of the senses and appetites, he has mastered his senses the same way a shepherd masters his animals, he harnesses and tames and directs their wild energies and impulses.

At Shrila Haridas Thakuras residence, Siddha Bakul in Puri, Rupa Goswami recited the following verse for the pleasure of Lord Chaitanya and his Devotees...

"When the holy name dances in the courtyard of the heart, it conquers the activities of the mind, and therefore all the senses become inert." (Chaitanya Charitamrita - Antya 1.99)

2) Serve with a green salad and/or tomatoes.
