Title: Moving to Los Angeles

User: Neil LA Date: 2007-05-21 23:43:40

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna!

All Glories to Swami Gaurangapada!

All Glories the Supremely Merciful Guru Parampara!

All Glories to the Vaishnavas!

First of all, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for the mercy of Swami Gaurangapada and all the Guru Parampara. Where would I be without Swami Gaurangapada, Srila Prabhupada, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta and especially Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura?

Dandavat pranams to those illustrious personalities again and again. I cannot express how fortunate I am that the Guru Parampara has brought the ocean of the merciful holy names to the west.

I'm moving to Los Angeles next week. Last week I went there with my friend Stephen and found a nice place to live. Its a lovely apartment right in the heart of Hollywood.

I was also able to visit the LA ISKCON temple, New Dwaraka Dham, and it is a very large and beautiful temple. Its quite a long way away from where I'll be living, but I will try to go there as frequently as I can. Their website says that they do Harinama on Hollywood Blvd on Friday evenings. That would be much closer to where I live, so I will try to participate in that as much as I can.

So now I'm looking for a new job. I ask for the prayers of Swami Gaurangapada and all the Vaishnavas so that I may find a good job that will be an opportunity to serve and that will be a support for my bhajana.

I might have to be off-line quite a bit until I get a new job, so if I don't post again for awhile, please don't think that I've stopped chanting or given up on Nityananda, Gauranga and Hare Krishna. With the mercy of the Guru and the Vaishnavas, I intend to continue. Its a struggle, but as another post said, I've been in this material world for ever and it will take me a long time to become a good devotee. But I trust in the Mercy of Nityananda, Gauranga, Hare Krishna and Sri Guru.

When I was at the LA temple, I bought some good books. One especially is called the Sri Bhaktivinoda Vani Vaibhava and it is a series of questions and answers from Sri Bhaktivinoda's writings. I've been feeling attracted to Srila Bhaktivinoda recently and I look forward to be able to have association with him through his writings.

Pranams again and again to Swami Gaurangapada and all the Vaishnavas

Your servant,

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! Jaya Guru Parampara!  Pranams and  Blessings! Thanks Neil for the update. I pray and hope that your Naam Bhakti and Bhakti increases in LA and that Lord Nityananda takes care of you nicely.

Bhaktivinoda Vani Vaibhava is one of the most wonderful compilations of divine teachings of the Seventh Goswami Shrila Saccidananda Bhaktivinoda Thakura. I have read it in Bengali a few times and I still read it when I desire. It gives the complete essence and summary of the teachings of Shrila Bhaktivinoda Thakura which are hidden in all the great scriptures composed by him. Please read those three volumes. They will give you a very indepth understanding of Tattva.

Daaso'smi, Swami Gaurangapada.

Thank you, Swami Gaurangapada for your blessings!

The past week or so I've been having difficulty in maintaining the standard of 16, 16, 16 rounds, but I'm sure once I get settled I'll be able to get more into a routine.

I've been having real difficulty getting up early and staying up. I've been consistant with chanting the 16 rounds each of Nityananda and Gauranga, but chanting 16 rounds of Hare Krishna has been a challenge. I really believe that Nityananda and Gauranga are so merciful and every round I chant is of value.

Once I get settled, I will do my best to complete all my rounds every day. I will make completing my rounds my priority and try to do it before I get my day started.
