Seeing Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu

urdhvamnaya-tantre

bhidyate hridaya-granthis, chidyante sarva-samsayah;

kshiyante jada-karmani, gaure drishte parat pare

In the Urdhvamnaya-tantra, Lord Siva declares to Parvati:

“The strong knot of material attachment in the heart from millions of lives is pierced, all the misgivings and doubts are cut to pieces, the chain of material fruitive activities is permanently terminated when one sees Lord Gaura, the Supreme Personality of Godhead who is the master of all masters.”

aparadha nahi, kaile lokera nistara;

ye toma’ dekhila, tara chutila samsara.

“There was no offense in Your appearing as Nrisimhadeva. Rather, any man who saw You in that mood was immediately liberated from the bondage of material existence.”

Adi 17.96

emana kripalu nahi suni tribhuvane

krishna-prema haya yanra dura darasane

There is no one as merciful as Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu within all three worlds. Simply by seeing Him from a distance, one is overwhelmed with love of Godhead.

Madhya 16.121

Madhya 9.7-8

purvavat pathe yaite ye paya darasana

yei grame yaya, se gramera yata jana

sabei vaishnava haya, kahe ‘krishna’ ‘hari’

anya grama nistaraye sei ‘vaishnava’ kari’

As previously stated, all the residents of the villages visited by Lord Chaitanya became Vaishnavas simply by seeing Him and began to chant Hari and Krishna. In this way, in all the villages visited by the Lord, everyone became a Vaishnava, a devotee just by seeing the Lord.

By the influence of Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, all these people of South India abandoned their own opinions and became Vaishnavas, devotees of Krishna.

keha ‘tattvavadi’, keha haya ‘shri-vaishnava'

At the time, all the South Indian Vaishnavas were worshipers of Lord Ramacandra. Some were Tattvavadis, and some were followers of Ramanujacarya.

After meeting Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, all those different Vaishnavas became devotees of Krishna and began chanting the Hare Krishna maha-mantra.

Madhya 9.13

hindura isvara bada yei narayana;

sei tumi hao,-hena laya mora mana.

 “I know that Narayana is the Supreme God of the Hindus, and I think that You are the same Narayana. This I feel within my mind by simply seeing you.”
