On Sunday my wife and I attended the Janmashtami celebrations at Bhaktivedanta Manor, the main ISKCON centre here in the U.K. There were many thousands of peope celebrating. The atmosphere was very inspiring. I was very impressed by the way that the yound devotees took care of the old people. We queud twice for Darshan of the Deities. The second time the line was very long and it was a good opportunity to chant quietly, and observe the mood of Devotion and to exercise patience. Which is not a quality which comes naturally to me! Eventually my "monkey mind" surrendered and I went with the flow. The Devotion in the Shrine Room was palpable.
My own personal preference is for smaller and quieter satsangha, but it was good to be reminded of the great Devotion which still remains in the Indian people in this Kali Yuga, and the goodness of heart which this Devotion engenders.
Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna!
All Glories to our Gurudev Swami Gaurangapada!
