Nityanada! Gauranga! Hare Krishna!

All Glories to Shrila Gurudeva Swami Gaurangapada!

All Glories to the Guru Parampara!

All Glories to all the Vaishnavas!

This week has been a good week for me. Even though there were a couple of days when I didn't actually do all my chanting, I feel that the quality of the times that I do manage to chant is getting better. I really feel a growing love for their Lordships Nityananda and Gauranga. I really do enjoy chanting. I am thankful for Lord Chaitanya's movement and I want to do my best to help spread devotion to the Holy Names.

Iíve still been having difficulty with controlling my sense desires. Recently I've been really having difficulty controlling my appetite for food. Iíve really gained quite a bit of weight recently. A couple of years ago, my friend, Stephen, persuaded me to do the AIDS Lifecycle ride which is a bicycle ride for 600 miles from San Francisco to Los Angeles. I trained for almost 6 months to complete the ride. When we were training, I was told not to worry about how much I ate because I needed the calories to keep on going. So I ate a lot!!!! Well, last year I ended up not doing the ride and not training, but I kept on eating. So without doing the same level of exercise as I was, I gained some weight. Now I get almost no exercise and I still eat and eat. Iíve been trying to become more disciplined with my eating, but I'll manage to eat less and healthier for a few days and then I'll binge on junk food. I feel embarrassed writing about it because I know that this is a particular issue with the "developed" world and that there are many places where people don't get enough to eat. I just wish I could find balance.

My life is in total flux at the moment. It is rather exciting and also rather nerve-wracking, but through it all, I am able to chant the Holy Names of Nityananda, Gauranga, and Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare. I am SO thankful to be able to have such a clear access to Lord Nityananda Rama and Lord Gauranga Syama. It is such a blessing to be always to chant the Holy Names.

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna!
