User: neilsf Date: 2006-10-18 12:23:21
Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna!
All Glories to Swami Gaurangapada!
All Glories to the Guru Parampara!
All Glories to the Vaishnavas!
Wishing everybody a blessed and wonderful Janmastami! I hope it brings everyone closer to Lord Gauranga Krishna and Lord Nitayananda Balarama!!!
I'm not sure how I'm going to celebrate. I'm somewhat torn. Part of me wants to go to Berkeley and go to the temple to celebrate, but another part of me wants to just stay home and do my own quiet celebration.
At this point in my spiritual life, I feel so tenuous with my chanting, I am really of the mind that the best way for me to celebrate is to just keep to my vow of 10 rounds of Nityananda and Gauranga and 4 rounds of Hare Krishna.
I really wish I could do more. A part of me wants to be "superdevotee" and do everything all at once. But I'm really getting a thought that I should just be patient with myself and stick to my chanting vow. That's the most important thing.
Maybe what I'll do is chant all my rounds nicely today, fast as much as I can, read the story of Krishna's advent pastimes from the Krishna Book, try to stay up to midnight and offer a nice, vegetarian burrito to their Lordships at midnight.
I figure that if I can stay with Naam Yoga for a year, I will go to the temple program next year. By then I'll be more convinced that I'm committed.
I offer my life and my soul to the Lotus Feet of Swami Gaurangapada and ask his blessing. My one desire is to learn to serve Swami Gaurangapada and the Vaishnavas in whatever way I can.
