Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna!

Thank you for posing this very interesting and thought-provoking piece which highlights a pretty frequent line of feedback we get from those karmis and atheists we converse with, when raising the matter of reincarnation and deliverence through the chanting of the holy names.

First of all can we ask, what is the state or frame of mind of someone who challenges, quite honestly as you say, with such frank athiesm? The question also appears to be accompanied by a small energy attachment or component of aggression. Although the question IS honest, still, it also reflects a certain amount of disrespect or inconsiderateness towards your compassionate motive in engaging with the person on the benefits of chanting Nityananda, Gauranga and Hare Krishna.

The questioner is also thereby indirectly asserting a supposed reality behind that other common mundane theory of voidism -  that there is nothing beyond what we see with our gross eyes/senses.

A tack we may take to respond to this likely common reaction to our proagating the holy names under the inspired guidance of his holiness Swami Gaurangapada, could be to encourage the person to pursue this question avidly within themselves, to experiment with themselves ( spiritually seek) to discover the answer practically; to leave their cerebral and philosophical sanctuary, to actually find out for themselves - for truth is always a matter for the individual. If it ineed is the fact that this wonderful chanting of the Divine names IS IN REALITY the only cure for Kali Yuga's snakebite, then, according to the honest and ernest nature of this lady's search, she will at the least "give it a serious go" and thereby discover for herself, rather than mainaining her "ivory tower" standoff, questioning others with the hope of some kind of enlightenment by simply conversing with other seekers and sadhus.

Also, if this lady is a sincere seeker after truth, she would surely sense something transcendental, energy-wise, from you during the exchange which would introduce the seed of love for Nitai-Gauranga-Krishna in her heart.

Respects and thanks to you for this post and glories to Shrila Gaurangapada Swami,

Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna!

Bhakta Michael.
