Title: Lord Advaita Acharya Appearance Day

User: Swami Gaurangapada Date: 2005-02-15 12:48:29

The Most Holy Appearance Day of Maha-Vishnu Avatara Lord Shri Advaita Acharya.

Shri-Advaita-Tattva

The Philosophical Truths about Lord Shri Advaita Acharya Prabhu

From Gaudiya Kanthahara by Shrila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura Prabhupada

`advaita acarya' bali' katha kaha ya'ra

sei `nada' lagi mora ei avatara

The Supreme Lord Gauranga said: "This incarnation of Mine in Kali-yuga was

induced by Nada, whom you all call as Advaita Acharya."

Shrila Advaita Acharya is the original cause for the advent of the most

merciful incarnation of Lord Krishna as Lord Gauranga. Thus if we do not

worship and celebrate with great enthusiam the appearance day of Shrila

Advaita Acharya - Advaita Saptami - which falls on Saturday 8th February

2003, we will find if very difficult to achieve the mercy of Lords

Nityananda- Gauranga. By celebrating the festival of Advaita Saptami, we try

to express our gratitude to Shri Advaita Acharya for the greatest service

ever rendered to the conditioned souls of inducing the Lord to appear in His

most magnanimous incarnation along with His elder brother Lord Nityananda

Balarama (je anilo prema dhana karuna prachura). Recommended reading: Cc Adi

Prayer of this day:

doya koro sitapati advaita gosai

tava kripa bale pai chaitanya-nitai

"O Lord Shri Advaita Acharya Prabhu, husband of Shrimati Sita Thakurani

(incarnation of Goddess Durga or Katyayani), please be causelessly merciful

on me, so that I can achieve the shelter of the lotus feet of Lords

Nityananda and Lord Gauranga by the strength of Your mercy, which is the

only way."

6.9

The followers of Shri Advaita were of two kinds. Some were real followers

(saragrahi) and the others were false (asaragrahi). Rejecting the false

followers, I offer my respectful obeisances to the real followers of Shri

Advaita Acarya, whose life and soul was Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. (Cc. Adi 12.1)

The Saragrahi Followers of Advaita are Devotees of Gauranga

At first all the followers of Advaita Acarya shared a single opinion, but

later they followed two opinions as ordained by providence. Some of the

disciples strictly accepted the orders of the acarya, and others deviated,

independently concocting their own opinions under the spell of daivi-maya.

The opinion of the acarya is essential. Anyone who disregards his order is

useless (asara-grahi). (Cc. Adi. 12.8-10).

The Useless Followers of Advaita Acarya were cut off From Gauranga's Mercy

After the disappearance of Lord Gauranga, the gardener of the tree of love

of Godhead, some of the sub-branches of the Advaita branch, for unfortunate

reasons, deviated from His path. Some branches did not accept the trunk that

vitalized and maintained the entire tree When they thus became ungrateful,

the trunk was angry at them. Thus Lord Chaitanya did not sprinkle upon them

the water of His mercy, and they gradually withered and died. (Cc. Adi

Shri Chaitanya Charitamrita Adi Lila Chp 6: The Glories of Lord Advaita Acharya

For original Verses and prayers please read this full Chapter today: http://chaitanyacharitamrita.com/adi/6/1/en1

Adi 6 Summary by Shrila Prabhupada:

The truth of Advaita Acarya has been described in two verses. It is said that material nature has two features, namely the material cause and the efficient cause. The efficient causal activities are caused by Maha-Vishnu, and the material causal activities are caused by another form of Maha-Vishnu, known as Advaita. That Advaita, the superintendent of the cosmic manifestation, has descended in the form of Advaita Acarya to associate with Lord Chaitanya. When He is addressed as the servitor of Lord Chaitanya, His glories are magnified because unless one is invigorated by this mentality of servitorship one cannot understand the mellows derived from devotional service to the Supreme Lord, Krishna.

CC Adi 6.1: I offer my respectful obeisances to Shri Advaita Acarya, whose activities are all wonderful. By His mercy, even a foolish person can describe His characteristics.

CC Adi 6.2: All glories to Lord Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu! All glories to Lord Nityananda! All glories to Advaita Acarya! And all glories to all the devotees of Lord Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu!

CC Adi 6.3: In five verses I have described the principle of Lord Nityananda. Then in the following two verses I describe the glories of Shri Advaita Acarya.

CC Adi 6.4: Lord Advaita Acarya is the incarnation of Maha-Vishnu, whose main function is to create the cosmic world through the actions of maya.

CC Adi 6.5: Because He is nondifferent from Hari, the Supreme Lord, He is called Advaita, and because He propagates the cult of devotion, He is called Acarya. He is the Lord and the incarnation of the Lord's devotee. Therefore I take shelter of Him.

CC Adi 6.6: Shri Advaita Acarya is indeed directly the Supreme Personality of Godhead Himself. His glory is beyond the conception of ordinary living beings.

CC Adi 6.7: Maha-Vishnu performs all the functions for the creation of the universes. Shri Advaita Acarya is His direct incarnation.

CC Adi 6.8: That purusha creates and maintains with His external energy. He creates innumerable universes in His pastimes.

CC Adi 6.9: By His will He manifests Himself in unlimited forms, in which He enters each and every universe.

CC Adi 6.10: Shri Advaita Acarya is a plenary part of that purusha and so is not different from Him. Indeed, Shri Advaita Acarya is not separate but is another form of that purusha.

CC Adi 6.11: He  helps in the pastimes of the purusha, with whose material energy and by whose will He creates innumerable universes.

CC Adi 6.12: Being a reservoir of all auspicious attributes, Shri Advaita Acarya is all-auspicious for the world. His characteristics, activities and name are always auspicious.

CC Adi 6.13: Maha-Vishnu creates the entire material world with millions of His parts, energies and incarnations.

CC Adi 6.14-15: Just as the external energy consists of two parts -- the efficient cause  and the material cause , maya being the efficient cause and pradhana the material cause -- so Lord Vishnu, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, assumes two forms to create the material world with the efficient and material causes.

CC Adi 6.16: Lord Vishnu Himself is the efficient  cause of the material world, and Narayana in the form of Shri Advaita is the material cause .

CC Adi 6.17: Lord Vishnu, in His efficient aspect, glances over the material energy, and Shri Advaita, as the material cause, creates the material world.

CC Adi 6.18: Although the Sankhya philosophy accepts that the material ingredients are the cause, the creation of the world never arises from dead matter.

CC Adi 6.19: The Lord infuses the material ingredients with His own creative potency. Then, by the power of the Lord, creation takes place.

CC Adi 6.20: In the form of Advaita He infuses the material ingredients with creative energy. Therefore, Advaita is the original cause of creation.

CC Adi 6.21: Shri Advaita Acarya is the creator of millions and millions of universes, and by His expansions  He maintains each and every universe.

CC Adi 6.22: Shri Advaita is the principal limb  of Narayana. Shrimad-Bhagavatam speaks of "limb"  as "a plenary portion"  of the Lord.

CC Adi 6.23: "O Lord of lords, You are the seer of all creation. You are indeed everyone's dearest life. Are You not, therefore, my father, Narayana? 'Narayana' refers to one whose abode is in the water born from Nara , and that Narayana is Your plenary portion. All Your plenary portions are transcendental. They are absolute and are not creations of maya."

CC Adi 6.24: This verse describes that the limbs and plenary portions of the Lord are all spiritual; They have no relationship with the material energy.

CC Adi 6.25: Why has Shri Advaita been called a limb and not a part? The reason is that "limb" implies greater intimacy.

CC Adi 6.26: Shri Advaita, who is a reservoir of virtues, is the main limb of Maha-Vishnu. His full name is Advaita, for He is identical in all respects with that Lord.

CC Adi 6.27: As He had formerly created all the universes, now He descended to introduce the path of bhakti.

CC Adi 6.28: He delivered all living beings by offering the gift of krishna-bhakti. He explained the Bhagavad-gita and Shrimad-Bhagavatam in the light of devotional service.

CC Adi 6.29: Since He has no other occupation than to teach devotional service, His name is Advaita Acarya.

CC Adi 6.30: He is the spiritual master of all devotees and is the most revered personality in the world. By a combination of these two names, His name is Advaita Acarya.

CC Adi 6.31: Since He is a limb or part of the lotus-eyed Supreme Lord, He also bears the name Kamalaksha.

CC Adi 6.32: His associates have the same bodily features as the Lord. They all have four arms and are dressed in yellow garments like Narayana.

CC Adi 6.33: Shri Advaita Acarya is the principal limb of the Supreme Lord. His truths, names and attributes are all wonderful.

CC Adi 6.34: He worshiped Krishna with tulasi leaves and water of the Ganges and called for Him in a loud voice. Thus Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu appeared on earth, accompanied by His personal associates.

CC Adi 6.35: It is through Him  that Lord Chaitanya spread the sankirtana movement and through Him that He delivered the world.

CC Adi 6.36: The glory and attributes of Advaita Acarya are unlimited. How can the insignificant living entities fathom them?

CC Adi 6.37: Shri Advaita Acarya is a principal limb of Lord Chaitanya. Another limb of the Lord is Nityananda Prabhu.

CC Adi 6.38: The devotees headed by Shrivasa are His smaller limbs. They are like His hands, face and eyes and His disc and other weapons.

CC Adi 6.39: With all of them Lord Chaitanya performed His pastimes, and with them He spread His mission.

CC Adi 6.40: Thinking "He  is a disciple of Shri Madhavendra Puri," Lord Chaitanya obeys Him, respecting Him as His spiritual master.

CC Adi 6.41: To maintain the proper etiquette for the principles of religion, Lord Chaitanya bows down at the lotus feet of Shri Advaita Acarya with reverential prayers and devotion.

CC Adi 6.42: Shri Advaita Acarya, however, considers Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu His master, and He thinks of Himself as a servant of Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.

CC Adi 6.43: He forgets Himself in the joy of that conception and teaches all living entities, "You are servants of Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu."

CC Adi 6.44: The conception of servitude to Shri Krishna generates such an ocean of joy in the soul that even the joy of oneness with the Absolute, if multiplied ten million times, could not compare to a drop of it.

CC Adi 6.45: He says, "Nityananda and I are servants of Lord Chaitanya." Nowhere else is there such joy as that which is tasted in this emotion of servitude.

CC Adi 6.46: The most beloved goddess of fortune resides on the chest of Shri Krishna, yet she too, earnestly praying, begs for the joy of service at His feet.

CC Adi 6.47: All the associates of Lord Krishna, such as Brahma, Siva, Narada, Suka and Sanatana Kumara, are very pleased in the sentiment of servitude.

CC Adi 6.48: Shri Nityananda, the wandering mendicant, is the foremost of all the associates of Lord Chaitanya. He became mad in the ecstasy of service to Lord Chaitanya.

CC Adi 6.49-50: Shrivasa, Haridasa, Ramadasa, Gadadhara, Murari, Mukunda, Candrasekhara and Vakresvara are all glorious and are all learned scholars, but the sentiment of servitude to Lord Chaitanya makes them mad in ecstasy.

CC Adi 6.51: Thus they dance, sing and laugh like madmen, and they instruct everyone, "Just be loving servants of Lord Chaitanya."

CC Adi 6.52: Shri Advaita Acarya thinks, "Lord Chaitanya considers Me His spiritual master, yet I feel Myself to be only His servant."

CC Adi 6.53: Love for Krishna has this one unique effect: it imbues superiors, equals and inferiors with the spirit of service to Lord Krishna.

CC Adi 6.54: For evidence, please listen to the examples described in the revealed scriptures, which are corroborated by the realization of great souls.

CC Adi 6.55-56: Although no one is a more respected elder for Krishna than Nanda Maharaja in Vraja, who in transcendental paternal love has no knowledge that his son is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, still ecstatic love makes him, what to speak of others, feel himself to be a servant of Lord Krishna.

CC Adi 6.57: He too prays for attachment and devotion to the lotus feet of Lord Krishna, as the words from his own mouth give evidence.

CC Adi 6.58-59: "My dear Uddhava, please hear me. In truth Krishna is my son, but even if you think that He is God, I would still bear toward Him my own feelings for my son. May my mind be attached to your Lord Krishna.

CC Adi 6.60: "May our minds be attached to the lotus feet of your Lord Krishna, may our tongues chant His holy names, and may our bodies lie prostrate before Him.

CC Adi 6.61: "Wherever we wander in the material universe under the influence of karma by the will of the Lord, may our auspicious activities cause our attraction to Lord Krishna to increase."

CC Adi 6.62: Lord Krishna's friends in Vrindavana, headed by Shridama, have pure fraternal affection for Lord Krishna and have no idea of His opulences.

CC Adi 6.63: Although they fight with Him and climb upon His shoulders, they worship His lotus feet in a spirit of servitude.

CC Adi 6.64: "Some of the friends of Shri Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, massaged His feet, and others whose sinful reactions had been destroyed fanned Him with hand-held fans."

CC Adi 6.65-66: Even the beloved girlfriends of Lord Krishna in Vrindavana, the gopis, the dust of whose feet was desired by Shri Uddhava and who are more dear to Krishna than anyone else, regard themselves as Krishna's maidservants.

CC Adi 6.67: "O Lord, remover of the afflictions of the inhabitants of Vrindavana! O hero of all women! O Lord who destroy the pride of Your devotees by Your sweet, gentle smile! O friend! We are Your maidservants. Please fulfill our desires and show us Your attractive lotus face."

CC Adi 6.68: "O Uddhava! It is indeed regrettable that Krishna resides in Mathura. Does He remember His father's household affairs and His friends, the cowherd boys? O great soul! Does He ever talk about us, His maidservants? When will He lay on our heads His aguru-scented hand?"

CC Adi 6.69-70: What to speak of the other gopis, even Shri Radhika, who in every respect is the most elevated of them all and who has bound Shri Krishna forever by Her loving attributes, serves His feet as His maidservant.

CC Adi 6.71: "O My Lord, O My husband, O most dearly beloved! O mighty-armed Lord! Where are You? Where are You? O My friend, reveal Yourself to Your maidservant, who is very much aggrieved by Your absence."

CC Adi 6.72: In Dvaraka-dhama, all the queens, headed by Rukmini, also consider themselves maidservants of Lord Krishna.

CC Adi 6.73: "When Jarasandha and other kings, bows and arrows upraised, stood ready to deliver me in charity to Sisupala, He forcibly took me from their midst, as a lion takes its share of goats and sheep. The dust of His lotus feet is therefore the crown of unconquerable soldiers. May those lotus feet, which are the shelter of the goddess of fortune, be the object of my worship."

CC Adi 6.74: "Knowing me to be performing austerities with the desire to touch His feet, He came with His friend Arjuna and accepted my hand. Yet I am but a maidservant engaged in sweeping the floor of the house of Shri Krishna."

CC Adi 6.75: "Through austerity and through renunciation of all attachments, we have become maidservants in the home of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who is satisfied in Himself."

CC Adi 6.76: What to speak of others, even Lord Baladeva, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, is full of emotions like pure friendship and paternal love.

CC Adi 6.77: He also considers Himself a servant of Lord Krishna. Indeed, who is there who does not have this conception of being a servant of Lord Krishna?

CC Adi 6.78: He who is Sesha, Sankarshana, with His thousands of mouths, serves Shri Krishna by assuming ten forms.

CC Adi 6.79: Rudra, who is an expansion of Sadasiva and who appears in unlimited universes, is also a gunavatara  and is the ornament of all the demigods in the endless universes.

CC Adi 6.80: He also desires only to be a servant of Lord Krishna. Shri Sadasiva always says, "I am a servant of Lord Krishna."

CC Adi 6.81: Intoxicated by ecstatic love for Lord Krishna, he becomes overwhelmed and incessantly dances without clothing and sings about Lord Krishna's qualities and pastimes.

CC Adi 6.82: All the emotions, whether those of father, mother, teacher or friend, are full of sentiments of servitude. That is the nature of love of Krishna.

CC Adi 6.83: Lord Krishna, the one master and the Lord of the universe, is worthy of being served by everyone. Indeed, everyone is but a servant of His servants.

CC Adi 6.84: That same Lord Krishna has descended as Lord Chaitanya, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Everyone, therefore, is His servant.

CC Adi 6.85: Some accept Him whereas others do not, yet everyone is His servant. One who does not accept Him, however, will be ruined by his sinful activities.

CC Adi 6.86: "I am a servant of Lord Chaitanya, a servant of Lord Chaitanya. I am a servant of Lord Chaitanya, and a servant of His servants."

CC Adi 6.87: Saying this, Advaita Prabhu dances and loudly sings. Then at the next moment He quietly sits down.

CC Adi 6.88: The source of the sentiment of servitude is indeed Lord Balarama. The plenary expansions who follow Him are all influenced by that ecstasy.

CC Adi 6.89: Lord Sankarshana, who is one of His incarnations, always considers Himself a devotee.

CC Adi 6.90: Another of His incarnations, Lakshmana, who is very beautiful and opulent, always serves Lord Rama.

CC Adi 6.91: The Vishnu who lies on the Causal Ocean is an incarnation of Lord Sankarshana, and, accordingly, the emotion of being a devotee is always present in His heart.

CC Adi 6.92: Advaita Acarya is a separate expansion of Him. He always engages in devotional service with His thoughts, words and actions.

CC Adi 6.93: By His words He declares, "I am a servant of Lord Chaitanya." Thus with His mind He always thinks, "I am His devotee."

CC Adi 6.94: With His body He worshiped the Lord by offering Ganges water and tulasi leaves, and by preaching devotional service He delivered the entire universe.

CC Adi 6.95: Sesha Sankarshana, who holds all the planets on His heads, expands Himself in different bodies to render service to Lord Krishna.

CC Adi 6.96: These are all incarnations of Lord Krishna, yet we always find that they act as devotees.

CC Adi 6.97: The scriptures call them incarnations as devotees . The position of being such an incarnation is above all others.

CC Adi 6.98: Lord Krishna is the source of all incarnations, and all others are His parts or partial incarnations. We find that the whole and the part behave as superior and inferior.

CC Adi 6.99: The source of all incarnations has the emotions of a superior when He considers Himself the master, and He has the emotions of an inferior when He considers Himself a devotee.

CC Adi 6.100: The position of being a devotee is higher than that of equality with Lord Krishna, for the devotees are dearer to Lord Krishna than His own self.

CC Adi 6.101: Lord Krishna considers His devotees greater than Himself. In this connection the scriptures provide an abundance of evidence.

CC Adi 6.102: "O Uddhava! Neither Brahma, nor Sankara, nor Sankarshana, nor Lakshmi, nor even My own self is as dear to Me as you."

CC Adi 6.103: The sweetness of Lord Krishna is not to be tasted by those who consider themselves equal to Krishna. It is to be tasted only through the sentiment of servitude.

CC Adi 6.104: This conclusion of the revealed scriptures is also the realization of experienced devotees. Fools and rascals, however, cannot understand the opulences of devotional emotions.

CC Adi 6.105-106: Baladeva, Lakshmana, Advaita Acarya, Lord Nityananda, Lord Sesha and Lord Sankarshana taste the nectarean mellows of the transcendental bliss of Lord Krishna by recognizing Themselves as being His devotees and servants. They are all mad with that happiness, and they know nothing else.

CC Adi 6.107: What to speak of others, even Lord Krishna Himself becomes thirsty to taste His own sweetness.

CC Adi 6.108: He tries to taste His own sweetness, but He cannot do so without accepting the emotions of a devotee.

CC Adi 6.109: Therefore Lord Krishna accepted the position of a devotee and descended in the form of Lord Chaitanya, who is complete in every respect.

CC Adi 6.110: He tastes His own sweetness through the various emotions of a devotee. I have formerly explained this conclusion.

CC Adi 6.111: All the incarnations are entitled to the emotions of devotees. There is no higher bliss than this.

CC Adi 6.112: The original bhakta-avatara is Sankarshana. Shri Advaita is counted among such incarnations.

CC Adi 6.113: The glories of Shri Advaita Acarya are boundless, for His sincere vibrations brought about Lord Chaitanya's descent upon this earth.

CC Adi 6.114: He liberated the universe by preaching sankirtana. Thus the people of the world received the treasure of love of Godhead through the mercy of Shri Advaita.

CC Adi 6.115: Who can describe the unlimited glories of Advaita Acarya? I write here as much as I have known from great authorities.

CC Adi 6.116: I offer my obeisances ten million times to the lotus feet of Shri Advaita Acarya. Please do not take offense at this.

CC Adi 6.117: Your glories are as fathomless as millions of oceans and seas. Speaking of its measure is a great offense indeed.

CC Adi 6.118: All glories, all glories to Shri Advaita Acarya! All glories to Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and the superior Lord Nityananda!

CC Adi 6.119: Thus in two verses I have described the truth concerning Advaita Acarya. Now, O devotees, please hear about the five truths .

CC Adi 6.120: Praying at the lotus feet of Shri Rupa and Shri Raghunatha, always desiring their mercy, I, Krishnadasa, narrate Shri Chaitanya-caritamrita, following in their footsteps.

The Lord vigorously shook His head while calling, "Nada, Nada," but no one

understood the actual meaning of the word Nada.

The word sandarbha means "purport," "confidential meaning," or "mystery." It

is stated: "Those statements that reveal a most confidential meaning, that

are the essence of a subject, and that give various meanings to understand a

subject matter are known by learned scholars as sandarbha."

TEXT 50

Text 41

Lord Chaitanya always thought Advaita Acarya His spiritual master. At this

Advaita would feel very unhappy.

Text 42

Advaita was not able to serve Lord Chaitanya directly. While Lord Chaitanya

slept, Advaita would grasp the Lord's feet.

Text 43

In His heart He meditated on Lord Chaitanya's feet. Advaita always desired

to serve Lord Chaitanya directly. That was His constant desire.

Text 44

Although He did not have the power to serve Him directly, Advaita yearned

to serve Lord Chaitanya. Therefore Advaita resorted to stealing the dust from

Lord Chaitanya's feet.

Text 45

When Lord Chaitanya fainted in ecstati love, Advaita approached the Lord's

feet.

Text 46

Offering dandavat obeisances, Advaita fell before the soles of the Lord's

feet. With the tears from His eyes, Advaita washed Lord Chaitanya's feet.

Text 47

When Lord Chaitanya fainted in ecstasy, on His own head Advaita wiped the

Lord's feet. Offering dandavat obeisances, He worshiped the Lord.

Text 48

Only because he had attained Lord Chaitanya's great, great mercy could

Advaita act in these ways.

Text 49

Therefore Advaita was the first of the Vaishnavas. All the Vaishnavas

affirmed, "Advaita is very fortunate."

Text 50

Wicked persons do not understand the secret of Lord Advaita's

transcendental glories.

Text 51

One day Lord Chaitanya danced, and Advaita happily followed Him.

Text 52

Then Lord Chaitanya fell unconscious. Seeing this, Advaita anointed His

limbs with the dust of the Lord's feet. Then He hid.

Text 53

Lord Chaitanya was perfectly aware of all these wonderful activities. Then

Lord Chaitanya began dancing again. Dancing and dancing, He did not feel

happy.

Text 54

Lord Chaitanya said, "Why is it not revealed to My heart? Whom have I

offended, that now I do not feel joyful?

Text 55

"What was stolen from Me. Who stole it? Because of this offense, I have no

power to dance in ecstasy.

Text 56

"Did someone touch the dust of My feet? Tell the truth. Don't worry. This I

tell to you."

Text 57

Hearing the words of He who is the Supersoul present in everyone's heart,

the devotees became afraid. Silent, no one spoke.

Text 58

If they spoke, they were afraid of Advaita's response. If they did not

speak they would die. Understanding their dilemma, Advaita folded His hands

and said,

Text 59

"If a thief cannot take directly, he will take when no one is looking.

Text 60

"I am the thief. Please forgive My transgression. If it displeases You, I

will not do it."

Text 61

Advaita's words made Lord Chaitanya angry. On the preText of angry words

Lord Chaitanya described the glories of Advaita.

Text 62

He said, "You destroy everything, and even then You feel no remorse in Your

heart.

Text 63

"Then, when everything is destroyed, You won't be happy unless You destroy

Me also.

Text 64

"You kill the ascetics, sannyasis, yogis, and philosophers. Whom do You not

kill with Your trident?

Text 65

"When people grasp Your feet to attain the goal of life, You respond by

killing them.

Text 66

"A certain sincere Vaishnava who lives in Mathura has come to see the glory

of Your feet.

Text 67

"After seeing You, how can anyone attain devotion to Lord Vishnu? Whatever

devotion he attains, Your eternal potency will take away.

Text 68

"When You touch the dust of a person's feet, You destroy him. Without mercy

You destroy him.

Text 69

"Lord Krishna has given to You all the devotion that exists in the countless

universes.

Text 70

"Still You roâ from a small person who has little. There is no mercy in

Your heart. You roâ from the poor.

Text 71

"You are a hoodlum. You are the greatest of robbers. You have robbed My

happiness of love for Lord Krishna."

Text 72

In this way, on the preText of criticizing Him, Lord Chaitanya praised

Advaita Acarya. Hearing the Lord's words, all the devotees floated in bliss.

Text 73

Then Lord Chaitanya said, "You have robbed Me. Can I not roâ You? Look!

Look! I will roâ from the robber."

Text 74

After speaking these words, Lord Chaitanya grasped Advaita's feet and,

laughing and laughing, took the dust that was there.

Text 75

Advaita had no power to defeat the fair lion of Lord Chaitanya. On His own

head Lord Chaitanya rubbed Advaita's feet.

Text 76

Holding to His own chest Advaita's feet, Lord Chaitanya said, "Look! Look! I

have tied up the thief. I have imprisoned Him in My heart.

Text 77

"A hundred times You robbed Me. I am the master of the house. Now, in one

time, I reclaim all that was robbed from My house."

Text 78

Then Advaita said, "What You say is true. You are the master of the house.

I did not understand anything.

Text 79

"My life, intelligence, mind, and body are all Your property. Lord, if You

kill someone, who can protect him?

Text 80

"You give happiness, and You also give suffering. If You punish someone,

who can protect him?

Text 81

"Narada and the sages went to Dvaraka City to see the life's treasure that

is Your feet.

Text 82

"Then You would take the dust from their feet. What could they do then?

That I ask You.

Text 83

"When You take the dust of his feet, what can Your servant do?

Text 84

"How can Your servant give the dust of his feet to You? Who can disobey

Your command?

Text 85

"It is not right for the Supreme Lord to act in this way. You will destroy

me, and You think it is funny.

Text 86

"You may either protect Me or destroy Me. Lord, You will do whatever You

wish."

Text 87

Then Lord Chaitanya said, "You are the keeper of the storehouse of

devotional service. That is why I serve Your feet.

Text 88

"Anyone who anoints his body with the dust of Your feet will float in the

nectar of pure love for Lord Krishna.

Text 89

"If You do not give it, no one can attain devotional service. Please know

perfectly well that, "I am Your property."

Text 90

"You can sell Me as You like. Lord, I tell You the truth."

Text 91

In their hearts all the devotees meditated on Lord Chaitanya's great mercy

to Advaita.

Text 92

They said, "The Lord has truly served Him. Therefore Advaita is a very

exalted person. Ten million liberations are not equal to a small fragment of

the mercy Advaita has attained.

Text 93

"Even the demigod Siva never attained mercy like the mercy Advaita attained

from Lord Chaitanya."

Text 94

"We are fortunate to associate with such an exalted devotee. The dust of

this devotee's feet we place on all our limbs."

Text 95

The devotees were very happy to praise Advaita. Because of their past

misdeeds, the sinners feel unhappy to hear Advaita's glories.

Text 96

Everything I have now said is true. They who have no faith in the

Vaishnavas' words will perish.

Text 97

Lord Chaitanya stood up and said, "Haribol!" Then the devotees around Him in

the four directions began to sing.

Text 98

Overcome with bliss, forgetting all else, and now become like a wild man,

Advaita Acarya danced.

Text 99

Placing His hand on His beard and knitting His eyebrows, Advaita Acarya,

the master of Santipura, loudly roared. Then He began to dance.

  LORD ADVAITA (ACARYA PRABHU):

He is a disciple of Madhavendra Puri, and constitutes one of the

figures amongst the Pancatattva. He is the combined incarnation of Lord

Mahavishnu and Lord Sadashiva. He was born in a varendra brahmana family on

the seventh day of the bright fortnight in the month of Magha, 1355 Saka

(1433 AD.), in the village named Lauda in Shrihatta.

According to Bangabhasa O Sahitya, Advaita Prabhu was born in 1434

AD. and met Vidyapati in 1458 AD. Advaita's former name was Kamalaksha

(Kamalakanta) Vedapancanana. His two wives were Sita Devi and Shri Devi.

Acyutananda was born of Sita Devi (1425 Saka 1503 AD.), followed by

Krishnadasa, Gopala, Balarama, Svarupa, and Jagadisa Misra. While Shri Devi

gave birth to one son named Syamadasa (Premavilasa 24).

From Lauda, Advaita Prabhu migrated to the village of Navahatta and

later to Santipura. He also had a house at Navadvipa. In 1480 Saka (1558

AD.), at the age of 125 years (i.e. 25 years after the disappearance of Lord

Gauranga) Advaita Prabhu returned to the spiritual world.

However, according to Premavilasa 24, Advaita Prabhu was born in

Santipura. He studied the Vedas and other scriptures under a scholar named

Santacarya in Phullavati village near Santipura, where he was awarded the

title Acarya. The genealogy of Advaita Prabhu can be found in Premavilasa

24.

To verify the meeting of Advaita with Vidyapati, it is known that in

1330 Saka (1408 AD.) Vidyapati received the endowment of Bisaphi village

from Sivasimha. Vidyapati was born around 1307 Saka (1385 AD.), and was a

contemporary of Candidasa . Vidyapati mentions their meeting one another in

songs he composed in 1325 Saka (1403 AD.).

One manuscript of the Bhagavata which was copied by Vidyapati is

still available and carries the date of copying as 1379 Saka (1457 AD.)

Evidence shows that Vidyapati was alive until 1401 Saka (1479 AD.). In 1485

AD. Advaita Prabhu, at the age of fifty two, arrived at the room where Lord

Gauranga was born. Much earlier he undertook a pilgrimage. Hence his

meeting with Vidyapati should be taken as a fact.

Glories of Mahavishnu and Sadashiva Avatara Shrimad Advaita Acharya

4th Feb 2006  Appearance Day

Chaitanya-charitamrita Adi 1.13

By Shrila A.C.Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada

Mayapur, April 6, 1975

“...because He propagates the cult of devotion, He is called Acarya. He is

the Lord and the incarnation of the Lord's devotee. Therefore I take shelter of Him.”

Shrila Prabhupada:

 advaitam harinadvaitad

acaryam bhakti-samsanat

bhaktavataram isam tam

advaitacaryam asraye

So gradually the author is offering respect, shri-krishna-chaitanya

prabhu-nityananda shri-advaita. He has already offered respect to Lord

Chaitanya and Lord Nityananda. Now it is the turn for Shri Advaitacarya. So

advaitam, nondifferent, expansion of Mahavisnu. Therefore He is

Vishnu-tattva. He is not jiva-tattva. Therefore, He is Advaita.

Advaita acyuta anadi ananta-rupam. Krishna has got unlimited number of

expansions, expansion, expansion of the expansion, then expansion of the expansion, in this way. So Advaitacarya is expansion of Krishna, it is already explained. Therefore He is called advaitam, and acaryam bhakti-samsanat. This is the business of acarya, to spread bhakti cult. Acaryam mam vijaniyat navamanyeta karhicit. It is said by the Lord that “You should accept the acarya...” Acarya means one who transmits bhakti cult. Bhakti-samsanat, spreading, gosthy-anandi.

One who is not spreading -- he is cultivating Krishna consciousness for his

personal benefit in a secluded place, sitting and chanting -- that is also

nice, but he's not acarya. Acarya means he must spread, Gosthy-anandi.

Bhajananandi, gosthy-anandi. So generally, gosthy-anandi means one who wants to increase the number of devotees. He's called gosthy-anandi. And one who is self-satisfied, that “Let me do my own duty”, he is called bhajananandi. So my Guru Maharaja, Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura, he was gosthy-anandi; he wanted to increase the number of devotees. And the more you increase the number of devotees, the more you become very much recognized by Krishna. It is Krishna's business. Krishna personally comes as He is, Krishna, to spread this bhakti cult. Man-mana bhava mad-bhakto mad-yaji mam namaskuru. Sarva-dharman parityajya mam ekam saranam vraja. He's canvassing personally. Paritranaya sadhunam vinasaya ca duskrtam, dharmasamstha-panarthaya sambhavami yuge yuge. So -- same thing entrusted to another devotee, and who spreads, he's acarya. So Krishna says, the acarya...

Here it is said, that advaita harina advaitad. So, of course Advaita Acarya

is expansion of Vishnu-tattva, but any acarya, he is to be considered

identical with the Lord. The Lord says that, that acaryam mam vijaniyat.

“One should understand the acarya.” Acarya bhakti-samsanat. Acarya means who is spreading pure bhakti cult. “That acarya”, Krishna says, “you should consider such acarya as Myself”.

Acaryam mam vijaniyat navamanyeta karhicit, that... You cannot consider,

“Yes, he's acarya, but not as good as Krishna”. No. Na avamanyeta. Don't

deride in that way. Then there will be falldown. Acaryam mam vijaniyat

navamanyeta karhicit. And in the Vedas also it is said, yasya deve para

bhaktir yatha deve tatha gurau: “Anyone who has got unflinching faith in the Supreme Personality and the similar faith in guru...” Yasya deve para

bhaktir yatha deve tatha gurau, tasyaite kathita hy arthah: “All the Vedic

literature”, prakasante, “becomes revealed simply by these two principle”. Guru krishna krpapaya bhakti lata bija. We should not jump over Krishna without the help of guru. That is not possible. You must go through. Because Krishna says, acaryam mam vijani... Tasmad gurum prapadyeta jijnasuh sreya uttamam:

“Actually one who is serious to understand higher transcendental subject

matter, he must approach guru.” Tasmad gurum, prapadyeta. These are Vedic injunctions. Caksudana dilo yei, janme janme pita sei. So anyone who opens... Guru means who opens the eyes of the ignorant person.

Ajnana-timirandhasya jnananjana-salakaya. Opening the eyes by giving real knowledge... Guru krishna krpapaya bhakti lata bija. So bhakti-lata, the devotional service, the seed of devotional service, can be received by the parampara system through bona fide spiritual master. And if we abide by the orders of spiritual master faithfully, then Krishna becomes pleased. That is stated by Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura, yasya prasadad bhagavat-prasadah.

Ara na koriya mane asa. Narottama dasa... All the acaryas they say like

that. Acaryam mam vijaniyat. Acaryavan puruso veda: “One who has accepted acarya, he knows things are they are.” Others, they do not know. It is not possible. So Advaita Acarya is the typical example, how to become acarya. All are our acaryas, shri-krishna-chaitanya prabhu nityananda, shri-advaita gadadhara shrivasadi-gaura-bhakta-vrnda. All of them are acaryas because they are following the acarya, Supreme Acarya, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Therefore they are acarya. evam parampara-praptam imam rajarsayo viduh. So we have to follow the acarya. Then, when we are completely, cent per cent follower of

acarya, then you can also act as acarya. This is the process. Don't become premature acarya. First of all follow the orders of acarya, and you become mature. Then it is better to become acarya. Because we are interested in preparing acarya, but the etiquette is, at least for the period the guru is present, one should not become acarya.

Even if he is complete, he should not, because the etiquette is, if somebody comes for becoming initiated, it is the duty of such person to bring that prospective candidate to his acarya, not that “Now people are coming to me, so I can become acarya”. That is avamanya. Navamanyeta karhicit. Don't transgress this etiquette. Navamanyeta. That will be fall down. Just like during the lifetime of our Guru Maharaja, all our godbrothers now who are acting as acarya, they did not do so. That is not etiquette. Acaryam mam vijaniyat na avaman... That is insult. So if you insult your acarya, then you are finished. Yasya prasadad bhagavat-prasado yasya aprasadat na gatih kuto 'pi -- finished. If you displease your acarya, then you are finished.

Therefore it is said, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu says to all the acaryas...

Nityananda Prabhu, Advaita Prabhu and Shrivasadi-gaur-bhakta-vrnda, they are all carriers of orders of Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.

So try to follow the path of acarya process. Then life will be successful.

And to become acarya is not very difficult. First of all, to become very

faithful servant of your acarya, follow strictly what he says, try to please

him and spread Krishna consciousness. That's all. It is not at all difficult.

Try to follow the instruction of your guru maharaja and spread Krishna

consciousness. That is the order of Lord Chaitanya. Amara ajnaya guru hana tara ei desa, yare dekha tare kaha krishna-upadesa: “By following My order, you become guru.” And if we strictly follow the acarya system and try our best to spread the instruction of Krishna... Yare dekha tare kaha krishna-upadesa. There are two kinds of krishna-upadesa. Upadesa means instruction. Instruction given by Krishna, that is also krishna-upadesa, and instruction received about Krishna, that is also krishna-upadesa. Krishnasya upadesa iti krishna upadesa. Samasa, sasti-tat-purusa-samasa. And Krishna visaya upadesa, that is also Krishna upadesa. Bahu-vrihi-samasa. This is the way of analyzing Sanskrit grammar. So Krishna's upadesa is Bhagavad-gita. He's directly giving instruction. So one who is spreading Krishna-upadesa, simply repeat what is said by Krishna. Then you become acarya. Not difficult at all. Everything is stated there. We have to simply repeat like parrot. Not exactly parrot. Parrot does not understand the meaning; he simply vibrates. But you should understand the meaning also. Otherwise how you can explain. So, so we want to spread Krishna consciousness. Simply prepare yourself how to repeat Krishna's instructions very nicely, without any malinterpretation. Then, in future... Suppose you have got now ten thousand. We shall expand to hundred thousand. That is required. Then hundred thousand to million, and million to ten million.

Devotees: Jaya!

Prabhupada: So there will be no scarcity of acarya, and people will

understand Krishna consciousness very easily. So make that organization. Don't be falsely puffed up. Follow the acarya instruction and try to make yourself perfect, mature. Then it will be very easy to fight out maya. Yes. Acaryas, they declare war against maya's activities, that maya instructing that “here is wine, here is cigarette, here is tha”t, in your country these

advertisements are very prominent, holding both ways, wine advertisement, cigarette advertisement, naked woman advertisements, and sometimes gambling also, advertisement. What is that? Congo?

Devotees: Bingo.

Prabhupada: Bingo. (laughter) Yes. So this is maya. And our declaration of war with maya -- no intoxication, no meat-eating, no bingo -- (laughter) these are our declaration of war. So we have to fight in that way because nobody can understand Krishna without being free from all sinful activities. These are sinful activities.

Therefore it is acarya's business to stop these nonsense activities.

Otherwise they'll not be able to understand, especially the meat-eaters.

They cannot understand. Nivrtta-tarsair upagiyamanad bhavausadhi

chrotra-mano 'bhiramat, ka uttamasloka-gunanuvadat puman virajyeta vina pasughnat. Unless one is very expert in killing animals, he's not bereft from Krishna consciousness. That means one who is very expert in killing, he cannot understand. Therefore Christ also said, “Thou shall not kill”, the first business. Nobody will be able if one is a killer of animal, small or big, ultimately killer of his own children, killer of his own self. The

killing process is so nice that it goes up to the point of killing one's

children. That is now happening. Killing business has so expanded that they are killing their own children. Just see the influence of Kali-yuga. The

children, they take shelter of the father and mother, thinking very safe.

Now, in this Kali-yuga, even there is no safety under the care of father and mother. Just see how this material civilization is progressing. Very, very dangerous. Kalau nasta-drsam. Therefore that Bhagavata verse is there, krsnesvadhamopagate dharma-jnanadibhih, kalau nasta-drsam puranarko 'dhunoditam. Very, very abominable condition in this age of Kali, very, very. It is the beginning of Kali. Now we have to pass through 427,000's of years. Kali-yuga will make progress in that way. And people are now practicing eating their children, and at the end of Kali there will be no food available. They'll... They have to eat the children just like the snakes do. The snake eat their own children. There are many animals; they eat their own children.

So don't try to repeat your birth again and again in this Kali-yuga. It will

be not very happy life. Better sacrifice everything in this life and be

fully Krishna conscious and go back to home, back to Godhead. Don't wait for the next life. This is very seriously repeated, that “This life I shall

finish my Krishna consciousness business”, and, as it is stated in the

Bhagavad-gita, that Krishna consciousness business means to understand Krishna rightly. And He's explaining Himself rightly. Where is the difficulty to

finish the Krishna consciousness business? If Krishna is explaining Himself,

what He is, then where is your difficulty? Krishna is explaining Himself in

the Bhagavad-gita, Krishna is sending His representative acarya to teach you and Krishna is within yourself trying to teach you if you are actually

serious. Then where is the difficulty? Inside, outside, always, books,

knowledge -- He is prepared. So where is the difficulty to make yourself perfect in Krishna consciousness? There is no difficulty at all. Provided you are serious, you can become fully Krishna conscious in this very life. You are all young men. You are not old man like me. I have no opportunity.

Shri-Advaita-Tattva

The Philosophical Truths About Shrila Advaita Acharya Prabhu

`advaita acarya' bali' katha kaha ya'ra

sei `nada' lagi mora ei avatara

The Supreme Lord Gauranga said: "This incarnation of Mine in Kali-yuga was induced by Nada, whom you all call as Advaita Acharya."

Shrila Advaita Acharya is the original cause for the advent of the most

merciful incarnation of Lord Krishna as Lord Gauranga. Thus if we do not

worship and celebrate with great enthusiam the appearance day of Shrila Advaita Acharya - Advaita Saptami - which falls on Saturday 8th February 2003, we will find if very difficult to achieve the mercy of Lords

Nityananda- Gauranga. By celebrating the festival of Advaita Saptami, we try to express our gratitude to Shri Advaita Acharya for the greatest service ever rendered to the conditioned souls of inducing the Lord to appear in His most magnanimous incarnation along with His elder brother Lord Nityananda Balarama (je anilo prema dhana karuna prachura). Recommended reading: Cc Adi Chp 12 and other references given below from CBh and Cc.

"O Lord Shri Advaita Acharya Prabhu, husband of Shrimati Sita Thakurani

(incarnation of Goddess Durga or Katyayani), please be causelessly merciful on me, so that I can achieve the shelter of the lotus feet of Lords

Nityananda and Lord Gauranga by the strength of Your mercy, which is the only way."

Anyone who disregards his order is useless (asara-grahi). (Cc. Adi. 12.8-10).

The Useless Followers of Advaita Acarya were cut off

After the disappearance of Lord Gauranga, the gardener of the tree of love of Godhead, some of the sub-branches of the Advaita branch, for unfortunate reasons, deviated from His path. Some branches did not accept the trunk that vitalized and maintained the entire tree When they thus became ungrateful, the trunk was angry at them. Thus Lord Chaitanya did not sprinkle upon them the water of His mercy, and they gradually withered and died. (Cc. Adi 12.67-69)

The Lord vigorously shook His head while calling, "Nada, Nada," but no one understood the actual meaning of the word Nada. The word sandarbha means "purport," "confidential meaning," or "mystery." It

is stated: "Those statements that reveal a most confidential meaning, that are the essence of a subject, and that give various meanings to understand a subject matter are known by learned scholars as sandarbha."

Advaita always desired to serve Lord Chaitanya directly. That was His constant desire.

Text 44

Although He did not have the power to serve Him directly, Advaita yearned to serve Lord Chaitanya. Therefore Advaita resorted to stealing the dust from Lord Chaitanya's feet.

Text 45

When Lord Chaitanya fainted in ecstati love, Advaita approached the Lord's feet.

Text 46

Offering dandavat obeisances, Advaita fell before the soles of the Lord's

feet. With the tears from His eyes, Advaita washed Lord Chaitanya's feet.

Text 47

When Lord Chaitanya fainted in ecstasy, on His own head Advaita wiped the Lord's feet.

Because of this offense, I have no power to dance in ecstasy.

Text 56

"Did someone touch the dust of My feet? Tell the truth. Don't worry. This I

tell to you."

Text 57

Hearing the words of He who is the Supersoul present in everyone's heart, the devotees became afraid. Silent, no one spoke.

Text 58

If they spoke, they were afraid of Advaita's response. If they did not

speak they would die. Understanding their dilemma, Advaita folded His hands and said,

Text 59

"If a thief cannot take directly, he will take when no one is looking.

Text 60

"I am the thief. Please forgive My transgression. If it displeases You, I

will not do it."

Text 61

Advaita's words made Lord Chaitanya angry. On the preText of angry words Lord Chaitanya described the glories of Advaita.

Text 62

He said, "You destroy everything, and even then You feel no remorse in Your heart.

Text 63

"Then, when everything is destroyed, You won't be happy unless You destroy Me also.

Text 64

"You kill the ascetics, sannyasis, yogis, and philosophers. Whom do You not kill with Your trident?

Text 65

"When people grasp Your feet to attain the goal of life, You respond by

killing them.

Text 66

"A certain sincere Vaishnava who lives in Mathura has come to see the glory of Your feet.

Text 67

"After seeing You, how can anyone attain devotion to Lord Vishnu? Whatever devotion he attains, Your eternal potency will take away.

Text 68

"When You touch the dust of a person's feet, You destroy him. Without mercy You destroy him.

Text 69

"Lord Krishna has given to You all the devotion that exists in the countless

universes.

Text 70

"Still You roâ from a small person who has little. There is no mercy in

Your heart. You roâ from the poor.

Text 71

"You are a hoodlum. You are the greatest of robbers. You have robbed My happiness of love for Lord Krishna."

Look! I have tied up the thief. I have imprisoned Him in My heart.

Text 77

"A hundred times You robbed Me. I am the master of the house. Now, in one time, I reclaim all that was robbed from My house."

Text 91

In their hearts all the devotees meditated on Lord Chaitanya's great mercy to Advaita.

Text 92

They said, "The Lord has truly served Him. Therefore Advaita is a very

exalted person. Ten million liberations are not equal to a small fragment of

the mercy Advaita has attained.

Text 93

"Even the demigod Shiva never attained mercy like the mercy Advaita attained from Lord Chaitanya."

Text 94

"We are fortunate to associate with such an exalted devotee. The dust of this devotee's feet we place on all our limbs."

Text 95

The devotees were very happy to praise Advaita. Because of their past

misdeeds, the sinners feel unhappy to hear Advaita's glories.

Text 96

Everything I have now said is true. They who have no faith in the

Vaishnavas' words will perish.

Text 97

Lord Chaitanya stood up and said, "Haribol!" Then the devotees around Him in the four directions began to sing.

Text 98

Overcome with bliss, forgetting all else, and now become like a wild man,

Advaita Acarya danced.

Text 99

Placing His hand on His beard and knitting His eyebrows, Advaita Acarya,

the master of Shantipura, loudly roared. Then He began to dance.

   ADVAITA (ACARYA PRABHU):

He is a disciple of Madhavendra Puri, and constitutes one of the

figures amongst the Pancatattva.  He is the combined incarnation of Lord

Mahavishnu and Lord Sadashiva. He was born in a varendra brahmana family on the seventh day of the bright fortnight in the month of Magha, 1355 Saka (1433 AD.), in the village named Lauda in Shrihatta.

According to Bangabhasa O Sahitya, Advaita Prabhu was born in 1434

AD. and met Vidyapati in 1458 AD. Advaita's former name was Kamalaksha (Kamalakanta) Vedapancanana. His two wives were Sita Devi and Shri Devi. Acyutananda was born of Sita Devi (1425 Saka 1503 AD.), followed by Krishnadasa, Gopala, Balarama, Svarupa, and Jagadisa Misra. While Shri Devi gave birth to one son named Syamadasa (Premavilasa 24).

From Lauda, Advaita Prabhu migrated to the village of Navahatta and

later to Santipura. He also had a house at Navadvipa. In 1480 Saka (1558 AD.), at the age of 125 years (i.e. 25 years after the disappearance of Lord Gauranga) Advaita Prabhu returned to the spiritual world.

However, according to Premavilasa 24, Advaita Prabhu was born in

Santipura. He studied the Vedas and other scriptures under a scholar named Santacarya in Phullavati village near Santipura, where he was awarded the title Acarya. The genealogy of Advaita Prabhu can be found in Premavilasa 24.

To verify the meeting of Advaita with Vidyapati, it is known that in

1330 Saka (1408 AD.) Vidyapati received the endowment of Bisaphi village from Sivasimha. Vidyapati was born around 1307 Saka (1385 AD.), and was a contemporary of Candidasa . Vidyapati mentions their meeting one another in songs he composed in 1325 Saka (1403 AD.).

One manuscript of the Bhagavata which was copied by Vidyapati is

still available and carries the date of copying as 1379 Saka (1457 AD.)

Evidence shows that Vidyapati was alive until 1401 Saka (1479 AD.). In 1486 AD. Advaita Prabhu, at the age of fifty two, arrived at the room where Lord Gauranga was born. Much earlier he undertook a pilgrimage. Hence his meeting with Vidyapati should be taken as a fact.
