Shri Vraja-Dhama-Mahimamrita

The Nectarean Glories of Shri Vraja-Dhama

 

jaya radhe, jaya krishna, jaya vrindavana,

shri govinda, gopinatha, madana-mohana (1)

 

All glories to Shri Radha and Krishna and the divine forest of Shri Vrindavana. All glories to

the three presiding deities of Vrindavana - Shri Govinda, Gopinatha and Madana-mohana.

 

shyama-kunda, radha-kunda, giri-govardhana

kalindi yamuna jaya, jaya mahavana (2)

 

All glories to Shyama-kunda, Radha-kunda, Govardhana Hill and the Yamuna River

(Kalindi). All glories to the great forest known as Mahavana, where Krishna and

Balarama displayed all of Their childhood pastimes.

 

keshi-ghata, vamshi-vata, dvadasha-kanana

jaha saba lila kaila shri nanda-nandana (3)

 

All glories to Keshi-Ghata, where Krishna killed the Keshi demon. All glories to the Vamshiva

ta tree, where Krishna attracted all the gopis to come by playing His flute. Glories

to all of the twelve forests of Vraja. At these places the son of Nanda, Shri Krishna,

performed all of His pastimes.

 

shri nanda-yashoda jaya, jaya gopa-gana

shridamadi jaya, jaya dhenu-vatsa-gana (4)

 

All glories to Krishna’s divine father and mother, Nanda and Yashoda. All glories to the

cowherd boys, headed by Shridama, the older brother of Shrimati Radharani and Ananga

Manjari. All glories to the cows and calves of Vraja.

 

jaya vrishabhanu, jaya krittika sundari

jaya jaya paurnamasi, abhira-nagari (5)

 

All glories to Radha’s divine father and mother, Vrishabhanu and the beautiful Kirtida.

All glories to Paurnamasi, the guru of the cowherd community. (She is the mother

of Sandipani Muni, grandmother of Madhumangala and Nandi-mukhi, and the beloved

disciple of Devarshi Narada.)

 

jaya jaya gopishvara vrindavana-majha

jaya jaya krishna-sakha batu dvija-raja (6)

 

All glories, all glories to Gopishvara Shiva, who resides in Vrindavana in order to protect

the holy dhama. All glories, all glories to Krishna’s (funny) young brahmana friend,

Madhumangala.

 

jaya rama-ghata, jaya rohini-nandana

jaya jaya vrindavana-vasi jata jana (7)

 

All glories to Rama-ghata, where Baladeva peformed His rasa dance. All glories to

Balarama, the son of Rohini. All glories, all glories to all the residents of Vrindavana.

 

jaya dvija-patni, jaya naga-kanya-gana

bhaktite jahara paila govinda-carana (8)

 

All glories to the wives of the proud Vedic brahmanas. All glories to the wives of the

Kaliya serpent. Through pure devotion they all obtained the lotus feet of Govinda.

 

shri rasa-mandala jaya, jaya radha-shyama

jaya jaya rasa-lila sarva-manorama (9)

 

All glories to the place where the rasa-lila was performed. All glories to Radha and

Shyama. All glories, all glories to the divine rasa dance, which is the most beautiful

of all of Krishna’s pastimes.

 

jaya jayojjvala-rasa sarva-rasa-sara

parakiya-bhave jaha vrajete pracara (10)

 

All glories, all glories to shringara rasa, which is the essence and most excellent of

all rasas and is propagated in Vraja as parakiya-bhava.

 

shri jahnava-pada-padma kariya smarana

dina krishna-dasa kahe nama-sankirtana (11)

 

Remembering the lotus feet of Nityananda Prabhu’s consort, Shri Jahnava Devi, this

very fallen and lowly servant of Krishna sings the sankirtana of the holy name.
