Harinama, Tuwa Aneka Svarupa

Shrila Bhaktivinoda Thakura

harinama, tuwa aneka svarupa

yashoda-nandana, ananda-vardhana, nanda-tanaya rasa-kupa (1)

O Harinama, you possess unlimited forms, such as Yashoda’s beloved son, He who

increases the bliss of Gokula, the son of Nanda, and the deep well of rasa.

putana-ghatana, trinavarta-hana, shakata-bhanjana gopala,

murali-vadana, agha-baka-mardana, govardhana-dhari rakhala (2)

You are the slayer of the Putana and Trinavarta demons, He who breaks the cart, the

protector of the cows, the player of the flute, the destroyer of the Agha and Baka

demons, the lifter of Govardhana Hill, and a cowherd boy.

keshi-mardana, brahma-vimohana, surapati-darpa-vinashi,

arishta-shatana, gopi-vimohana, yamuna-pulina-vilasi (3)

You kill the Keshi demon, bewilder Brahma and break the pride of Indra. You kill

Arishtasura, enchant all the young gopis and perform playful pastimes along the banks

of the Yamuna.

radhika-ranjana, rasa-rasayana, radha-kunda-kunja-vihari

rama, krishna, hari, madhava, narahari, matsyadi-gane avatari (4)

You delight Shrimati Radhika and bring the nectar of life to the rasa dance. You enjoy

in the kunjas at Radha-kunda. You are the reservoir of pleasure, attractive to all

beings. You remove inauspiciousness and are the husband of the goddess of fortune,

the half-man half-lion Nrisimhadeva, and the source of all the other incarnations

beginning with the fish Matsya.

govinda, vamana, shri madhusudana, yadava-candra, vanamali

kaliya-shatana, gokula-ranjana, radha-bhajana-sukha-shali (5)

You give pleasure to the cows. You are the dwarf brahmana incarnation, the slayer

of the Madhu demon, and the moon of the Yadu dynasty. You wear beautiful garlands

of fresh forest flowers, punish the Kaliya serpent, give delight to Gokula and rejoice

in the worship of Shrimati Radhika.

ity adika nama, svarupe prakama, baduka mora rati rage,

rupa-svarupa-pada, jani’ nija sampada, bhaktivinoda dhari’ mage (6)

Understanding your glories, Bhaktivinoda clasps the lotus feet of Rupa Gosvami and

Svarupa Damodara and offers this prayer: “O Harinama, by Your sweet will You

manifest in all these forms and in many others as well. Please let my love and

attachment for Them ever increase.”
