From the Gaudiya Bhasya of Shrila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura:

This work of Shrila Thakura Vrndavana is so simple that even less-intelligent persons can make their lives glorious by understanding the highest conclusions of devotional service and seeing the wonderful beauty of the liberated pure Vaishnavas of this visible world who renounce all forms of liberation, including salokya and sarsti, living on the same planet as the Lord and having the same opulence as the Lord.

Therefore unless one takes shelter of the lotus feet of the liberated devotees of Gaura, one cannot enter into the depths of Shri Chaitanya-bhagavata. As a result, the living entities are unable to hear about the names, forms, qualities, pastimes, and associates of Gaura.

Gaurangera bhakta-gane, jane jane shakti dhari, brahmanda tari saksi(?): “The devotee of Lord Chaitanya, every one has so immense power that every one, they can deliver the whole universe.” Gaurangera bhakta-jane, jane jane shakti..., brahmanda tari... That is Gauranga’s men.

(SP Room Conversation with Ratan Singh Rajda M.P.

“Nationalism and Cheating”, April 15, 1977, Bombay)

The author has accepted the pastimes of Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu that he heard from the mouths of His devotees as the ingredients for the composition of this Shri Chaitanya-bhagavata. By this example the author shows that one must follow the footsteps of the Vaishnavas and accept the process of hearing in disciplic succession. (SBSST purport to Cb Adi 1.83)
