SRILA PRABHUPADA REVEALS VRNDAVANA TO THE WORLD
It was 500 years ago that Iord Caitanya Mahaprabhu predicted that the holy names of Krishna would be chanted in every town and village throughout the world. His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada appeared, just to fulfil this divine prophecy of Lord Caitanya.lord Caitanya ordered the Gosvamis, Rupa and Sanatana, to go to Vrndavana and excavate all the lost holy places connected with Lord Sri Krishna's transcendental pas¬times. The Gosvamis were successful in establishing Vnidavana as a sacred place of pilgrimage for the devotees of Lord Krishna. But still, the people of the world had not heard anything about Vrndavana until 1965, when Srila Prabhupada sailed to America to spread the Hare Krishna movement, as well as glorifying the most holy of holy places - Sri Vrndavana Dhama.Today, thousands of foreigners from the world over flock to this holy city on pilgrimage. Vrndavana is now considered to be the most important spiritual pilgrimage place on earth, thanks to the pioneering preaching work done by Srila Prabhupada, in broadcasting the glories of Vrndavana dhama.Since the time of the Six Gosvanus, many exalted devotees have come in the disciplic line of succession from Rupa and Sanatana, including such revered personalities like; Raghunatha daS:a, Jiva, Krishna dasa Kaviraja, Srinivasa, Syamananda, Visvanatha, Baladeva, Jagannatha dasa Babajl, and in the modern era, Bhaktivinoda Thakura, Gaurakisora dasa Babajl and Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvali, who all wrote and preached extensively. They established the path shown by Lord Caitanya as the topmost process of self realization for the whole of mankind. The culmination of all their hard work became manifest in the form of Srila Prabhupada, who single-handedly spread these teachings all over the world.
In fact, Bhaktivinoda Thakura had predicted at the beginning of the century one will soon come who will spread the holy names of Krishna throughout the world".It is not difficult to see that since the time of Lord Caitanya Himself, Srila Prabhupada has become the most prominent and successful messenger of Sri Caitanya's teachings, that the world has ever seen, or is ever likely to see again. It was in the twelve short years from August 1965 up to November 1977, that Srila Prabhupada was actively preaching. He established over 100 temples of Krishna world-wide, initiated more than 10,000 dis¬ciples, and a distributed record 100 million copies of his books on Krishna Consciousness in 14 languages. Srila Prabhupada's translation of the Bhagavad-gitd became the best seUing edition in the world. About his books, Srila Prabhupada once confided - "my books will be the spirimal law books for the next 10,000 years." Srila Prabhupada had also said that "the American people will mark the day I arrived in this country, and brought the Krishna consciousness movement to America".This unparalleled contribution to Lord Caitanya's movement will go on reverberat¬ing for many, nwny years to come. The full impact of Srila Prabhupada's great work will only be seen by the future generations. At this time, no one can comprehend the full extent and far reaching effect of Srila Prabhupada's mission on earth. He ushered in a spiritual revolution that has changed the course of world history.
