(Gurjjari raga, Eka tala)

Svadina Bharttrka

(Radha envisions Krsna's submissive service to that previ¬ously described sweetheart.)

(22)

samudita madane ramanivadane cumbana valitadhare

mrgamada tilakam likhati sapulakam mrgamiva rajaikare

ramate yamuna pulina vane vijayi murariradhuna

That fortunate ramani arouses Krsna's passion...so He kisses her lips and horripulates! Then, using deer-musk, He carefully paints tilaka designs on her lovely forehead, as the moon is covered by the mark of a deer (Chorus: Aho! Glorious Murari now enjoys His love affair on the forest banks beside the Yamuna.)

(23)

ghanacaya rucire racayati cikure taralita tarunanane

kuruvaka kusumam capala susamam ratipati mrga kanane

ramate yamuna pulina vane vijayi murariradhuna

Appearing like Cupid's deer park, this ramani's hair rest¬lessly tosses around her youthful face. So Krsna places kuruvaka flowers (which resemble the lighting) in her wavy, cloud-like hair.

Aho! Glorious Murari now enjoys His love affair on the forest banks beside the Yamuna.)

(24)

gatayati sughane kuca yuga gagane mrgamada rucirusite

mani saramamalam taraka patalam nakha paddsasi bhusite

ramate yamuna pulina vane vijayi murariradhuna

That kisori's breasts are emmense like the sky; they are decorated with kasturi designs and the moonrays of Krsna's pinch marks. Thus Krsna covers them with a necklace of pearls which resemble a star galaxy. (Aho! Glorious Murari now enjoys His love affair on the forest banks beside the Yamuna.)

(25)

jita visa sakle mrdu bhuja yugale karatala nalini dale

markat balayam madhukara nicayam vitarati hima sitale

ramate yamuna pulina vane vijayi murariradhuna.

Between her lotus-stem-arms and her lotus-petal-palms, Krsna places emerald bracelets which could be mistaken for a swarm of bees. (Aho! Glorious Murari now enjoys His love affair on the forest banks

beside the Yamuna.)

(26)

rarigrha jaghane vipulapaghane manasija kanakasane

manimaya rasanam torana hasanam vikirati krta vasane

ramate yamuna pulina vane vijayi murariradhuna.

That ramani's bottom looks like Kamadeva's golden throne; and seeing it arouses Krsna's lovemaking desire. Thus He cov¬ers it with a jewelled bell chain, and jokes : "O sweetheart! Here is the gateway which leads Me to Rati's* pleasure pal¬aces!" (Aho! Glorious Murari now enjoys His love affair on the forest banks beside the Yamuna.)

(27)

carana kisalaye kamala nilaye nakha manigana pujite

vahirapavaranam yavaka bharanam janayati hrdi yojite

ramate yamuna pulina vane vijayi murariradhuna

That Kamini's lotus feet are soft as leaf blossoms, and they form the abode of Laksmi. Thus Krsna feelingly places them above His chest and performs puja by painting their toenails with red nail polish.

(Aho! Glorious Murari now enjoys His love affair on the forest banks beside the Yamuna.)

(28)

ramayati subhrsam kamapi sudrsam khala haladhara sodare

kimaphalamvasam cirmiha virasam vada sakhi vitopadare

ramate yamuna pulina vane vijayi murariradhuna

Hey sakhi! Certainly Balarama's cheating, younger brother spends His time pleasing some other sundari ramani like this. So what will we gain by remorsing in this dark forest kunja?

(Aho! Glorious Murari now enjoys His love affair on the forest banks beside the Yamuna.)

(29)

iha rasa bhane krta hari gunane madhuripu pada svake

kali yuga caritam na vasatu duritam kavinrpa jayadevake

Let this srngara rasamaya song composed by Madhuripu's carana sevaka*, Kaviraja Jayadeva the sins of Kaliyuga."Rati: Cupid's wife, the goddess of rati krida

(30)

nayatah sakhi nirddayo yadi sathastvamduti kim duyase

svacchandam bahu ballavam sa ramate kim tatra te dusanam

pasyadya priya sangamaya dayitasyakrsyamanam gunair

utkantharitibharadiva sphutadidam cetah svaya yasyati

Seeing Her sakhi downtrodden, Radhika implores : O dear one! Don't become sad seeing the cruelty of Krsna's debauchery. Let that Bahu-ballabha (enjoyer of many woman) enjoy as He pleases; there is no fault of your part for that. Look, after becoming greatly attached to Him, My soul will just have to leave My body to meet with Him (in My next life).
