SRl ADVAITASTAKAM

 

Eight verses praising Sri Advaita Acarya, by 3ri Sarvabhauma Bhattacarya:

 

gahga tire tat payobhis tulasyah

patraih puspaih prema huhkdra ghosaih

prdkdtyartham gauram arddhayad yah

sriladvaitacaryam etarh prapadye

 

I take shelter of Srila Advaita Acarya, who wor¬shipped Gaura to make Him appear in the world, roaring out with love and offering TulasT-leaves, flowers and Gahga-water on the bank of the Ganga." (1)

 

yad dhuhkaraih prema sindhor vikarair

akrstah san gaura goloka nathah

avirbhutah srT navadvipa madhye

sriladvaitacaryam etam prapadye

 

I take shelter of Srila Advaita Acarya, who caused Gaura, the Lord of Goloka, to advent in Sri Navadvipa, attract¬ing Him with His roars, that are transformations of the ocean of prema. "(2)

 

brahmadinam durlabha prema purair

ddinam yah plavaydmasa lokam

avirbhavya srila caitanya candram

sriladvaitacaryam etath prapadye

 

I take shelter of Srila Advaita Acarya, who caused Srila Caitanya Candra to appear to inundate the world with the flood of prema which is rarely attained even by Brahma and other gods." (3)

 

sri caitanya sarva sakti prapurno

yasyaivajna mdtrato 'ntardadhe 'pi

durvijheyam yasya kdrunya krtyam

sriladvaitacaryam etath prapadye

 

I take shelter of Srila Advaita Acarya, on whose mere order, which is filled with all power, Sri Caitanya also disap¬peared from the world, and whose merciful dealings are diffi¬cult to comprehend." (4)

 

srsti sthityantam vidhatum pravrtta

yasyamsamsah brahma visavisvarakhyah

yenabhinnam tarn mahavisnu rupam

sriladvaitacaryam etam prapadye

 

I take shelter of Srila Advaita Acarya, Who is non-different from Mahavisnu, Who runs the creation, mainte¬nance and destruction of the world through His plenary por¬tions Brahma, Visnu and iva."(5)

 

kasmimsid adyah sruyate casrayatvat

sambhor ittham sambhavan nama dhama

sarvarddhyam bhakti matrai sadhyam

sriladvaitacaryam etam prapadye

 

I take shelter of Srjla Advaita Acarya, about Whom it is heard that since He is Siva's shelter He has the same name and abode like Siva, Who is all-worshipable and Who is only attained through devotion." (6)

 

sita ndmni preyasi prema purna

putro yasyapyacyutananda nama

sri caitanya prema pura prapurnah

sriladvaitacaryam etam prapadye

 

I take shelter of Srila Advaita Acarya, Whose love-filled wife is named Sita and whose son, who is filled with a flood of love for Sri Caitanya, is named Acyutananda." (7)

 

nitydnandadvaito'dvaita nama

bhaktyakhydnad yah sad acarya nama

sasvac cetah sahcarad gaura dhama

sriladvaitacaryam etam prapadye

 

I take shelter of Srila Advaita Acarya, Who is named advaita because He is non-different from Nityananda, Who is named acarya because He teaches bhakti, and Whose heart is always filled with Gaura-dhama." (8)

 

pratah pfitah pratyaham sampathed yah

sitanathasyastakam suddha buddhih

so'yam samyak tasya pddaravinde

vindan bhaktim tat priyatvam prayati

 

"Whoever recites these eight verses praising Prabhu STtanatha with a pure heart every morning, will surely attain devotion to His lotus feet and become very dear to Him.
