The Dog of a Vaisnava
A devotee sees himself as the dog of a Vaisnava. Therefore we wear these beads around our necks. They are our dog collar. They show that we're ready to give the Vaisnava whatever he wants. We're ready to surrender to his every desire and perform whatever service he asks. And sometimes his request is big, as is Shrila Prabhupada's request that we spread Krsna consciousness throughout the world by distributing his books far and wide. This is a very big service. The world is big and there are only a few of us. But, by distributing these books, we are expanding Krsna consciousness more effectively than we ever could by speaking to people at their doors. We are expanding Krsna consciousness in towns and villages where we would not have been accepted in other ways. People accept books because books look innocent.
