Putting Shrila Prabhupada in the Center
Our Krsna conscious connection with Shrila Prabhupada is through his books. Shrila Prabhupada said, "I am living forever in these books." So how can you not have a connection to the author if you read these books and distribute these books? You have him in your hands all day, every day.
One person accused us of not worshiping Shrila Prabhupada very nicely in this zone. He said, "Shrila Prabhupada is not in the center." I rarely get angry, but when I heard that, I became very angry and said, "What does it mean to put Shrila Prabhupada in the center?" In every temple Prabhupada is on the vydsdsana, and we offer him guru-pujd, flowers, and prayers. What does it mean to be in the center? That you offer a bigger garland? More flowers? Does it matter if you offer a bigger garland? Does that mean that you are a better devotee or that you have more love for Shrila Prabhupada? Maybe he didn't like wearing big garlands. What does it mean? To put Shrila Prabhupada in the center means you produce and distribute his books in every language of the world. If that is your main service, how can Shrila Prabhupada not be the center of all your activities? However, Shrila Prabhupada said that his books are not just for distribution—they are for reading. Therefore you should read these books. If you read Shrila Prabhupada's books and expertly learn the philosophy within them, Shrila Prabhupada will always be in the center of this Krsna consciousness movement.
