paripalaya nah krpalaye 'ty
asakrt kranditam drta-bdndhavah
vibhur akarnayita kada nu nah
paripalaya—protect; nah—us; krpalaye—O abode of mercy; iti—thus (saying); asakrt—repeated; kranditam— cries; arta—of the distressed; bandhavah—friend; murall—flute; mrdula—mild; svana—sound;antare— within, surrounded by; vibhuh—the Lord; akarnayita— hear; kada—when; nu—indeed; nah—of us.
If the Lord, the friend of the distressed, is surrounded by the beguiling wound of His flute, when will He be able to hear us repeatedly crying out, "O abode of mercy, please protect us!"
