Title: Sea Beach in Puri Dhama

I was chanting on the sea beach at Puri Dhama and was feeling myself so fortunate to touch the same sea-waters in which Lord Gauranga Mahaprabhu and His Divine Associates bathed everyday and in the same waters in which Lord Gauranga floated in a supreme trance right upto Konark. There is a conversation between the ocean and Ganga in Shri Navadvipa Dhama Mahatmya. Actually this salt-water ocean at Puri Dhama which is called as the Bay of Bengal is the most fortunate ocean in this whole universe among all the seven kinds of oceans in the upper planetary systems. When the Supreme Absolute Truth Lord Gauranga advented in Kali Yuga, He performed His transcendental bathing pastimes in this ocean.

 

While chanting, I felt so much pain that the foolish and ignorant people of this world do not know the real greatness of their own Creator Lord Gauranga and of this ocean and beach which is His pastime place. If they have had even a lit bit of understanding about who their eternal Lord is, they would have named the ocean as the Gauranga Ocean and made it into a great memorial where the Supreme Personality of Godhead used to bathe daily for at least 18 years in Kali Yuga. Instead of glorifying the pastime places of Lord Gauranga who is their own Creator, Maintainer, Eternal Father, Mother and everything, they are busy decorating and eulogizing themselves.

 

It is so beautiful to combine the Holy Name of Gauranga and His Pastime Places while chanting. Shrila Krishna dasa Kaviraja Goswami does not mention many pastimes of the Lord in the sea specifically but I could realize while chanting that the presiding Deity of sea must be dancing in joy and the sea would be bubbling with bliss when he had the most rare chance of embracing Lord Gauranga and all His Associates with its waves and kissing Their lotus feet with its waters. Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna!
